Endless Joy SS25: Mythology, Mortality, and the Art of Living

Endless Joy SS25

Few brands embrace the beauty of mythology as fervently as Endless Joy. Founded by artists Stevie and Alexandra Anderson, the label has built its identity on hand-painted designs that evoke the mystical and the ancient. Their SS25 collection is an exploration of wearable folklore that pays homage to the eternal cycle of life and death, rendered in breathtaking detail across silk, cotton, and French linen.

The collection is a meditation on the impermanence of existence, a celebration of humanity’s connection to nature, and an exploration of the symbols that have defined cultures for centuries. Each piece - a shirt, a pair of board shorts, a silk scarf - highlighting the inevitability of mortality.

In an industry where we often prioritise trends over artistry, Endless Joy stands apart with its dedication to meticulous craftsmanship. Each garment in the SS25 lineup is hand-painted by the Andersons, transforming myth and legend into intricate, wearable masterpieces. The collection’s vibrant palette - striking yellows, deep reds, and verdant greens - draw inspiration from global folklore, from Greek mythology to Pagan traditions and East Asian spiritual philosophies.

Key artworks within the collection, such as BAMBOO, LEOPARDO, and CAMPUHAN, examine the rapid development of tourism in Southeast Asia and its impact on the natural world. These designs feature lush valleys, converging rivers, and sacred temples, juxtaposing the region’s timeless beauty with the modern forces that threaten its existence.

Meanwhile, pieces like SUTASOMA and IN THE PINES delve into Javanese folklore, exploring themes of resilience, temptation, and the fragility of life.

The collection also ventures into still darker territories. BRAIN SMASHER, APOCALYPSE, and GAJAH WAKTRA pull from medieval demonology and mythical beasts, painted in electric blues, fiery oranges, and deep, unsettling blacks. These works capture the raw, often chaotic essence of human existence - a world where creation and destruction are perpetually locking horns.

Deeply committed to ethical production, the brand collaborates with Balinese artisans to preserve traditional craftsmanship, employing age-old dyeing methods that utilise natural pigments extracted from plants like mango, sappan wood bark, and indigofera leaves.

Beyond responsible sourcing, Endless Joy extends its commitment to sustainability through its partnership with The Eden Reforestation Project. For every garment sold, three trees are planted, ensuring that each piece gives back more to the planet than it takes. Additionally, a percentage of all profits goes toward supporting ecological preservation, the arts, and humanitarian efforts - an approach that aligns with the brand’s fundamental belief in the interconnectedness of all things.

In a time when fashion often feels disposable, Endless Joy invites us to slow down, to appreciate the artistry in what we wear, and to recognise the deeper stories embedded within fabric and thread.
