A New Dawn: Natanya on the Rise

An eccentric sound paired with an eerily melodic voice. She’s the new cat in town— she’s Natanya.

British pop princess Natanya has seen a rush of popularity recently, with tracks from her latest ep “Feline’s Return Act 2” going viral across social media. Previously known for her hits “Foolish,” “Angel” and “Guitar,” this songstress is tapping through the TikTok algorithm with a thunderous groove.

Having opened for PinkPantheress, Mereba and Ravyn Lenae on the UK branches of their tours, late 2025 saw a spotlight shine over Natanya, with the likes of Amine, SZA, Doechii and Tyler, the Creator tuning in online as well.

As the reception of Feline’s Return Act 2 heats up, it makes sense that Natanya’s growing fanbase is buzzing for the release of her next project. We asked her some questions about all things Natanya and got the spill on her music evolution, artistic autonomy and what to watch out for.

How do you feel about the reception towards Feline's Return Act 1?

So honoured by everything! I feel this deep determination to do even better next time round. It’s so great seeing how many people were touched by the music. I love seeing my fans so invigorated. I’ve finally given them something to talk about.

What was the concept behind Feline's Return Act 1 inspired by?

Feline’s Return was all about the desire to really make a mark. I felt like I’d exhausted all options, but I knew I had a message to share. I would crawl around [London] doing one little hunt that would help me progress. I felt like a little black cat slinking through the streets. Everyone said I had a cat eye thing when I was growing up. She’s like my alter ego. When I get competitive or perform, she comes out.

How did your creative processes differ for Act 1 and Act 2?

I think they were quite similar creatively! I had even more dominion over the production in Act II. I was also way less afraid of my own quirks. Both are expressions of myself, and one very long story split into two, which involved us doing nonverbal reasoning. Act 1 has a different storyline. There’s a more comprehensive conclusion of where I was in my life in 2024. Act 2 is more about fun, whimsy and surrealism. It goes on its own journey and I wanted to aim for absolute precision.

How has your sound developed since your first EP “Sorrow at Sunrise?”

I’ve become the voice behind my voice. Before Feline’s Return I didn’t have that much autonomy behind my sound. Now everything I make is quintessentially me from top to bottom.

What inspired the styling/aesthetics for both FR acts?

I love Tim Burton films with all my heart! I’m also a big fan of Coraline and old Hollywood/Burlesque.

What has been the biggest inspiration for you recently?

My own feelings. Whenever I let myself feel honestly, I always come out the other side with something I’m truly proud of. London has made me hungry: it’s a fast city. You have to move at a fast pace just to get around. London has given me refinement. British music has always been so tight with our branding and people respect us around the world for it.

What sounds & themes can we expect from your next project?

I’m changing my attitude to the way I make music again. Next project is all about doubling down on who I am and going deep as possible into my self. I’ve shown myself that I’m capable and now this about getting as creative as possible. By the end of this project, I’d love to know that it’s people’s soundtrack to everything. Keep a look out for every single sign- you can expect something more Natanya than ever!

How has it been to open for such massive acts, Ravyn Lenae, and PinkPantheress?

Honestly, those experiences taught me how to develop a thick skin. It’s something I’ll need for the future since I plan to be here for a long time.

How do you feel about your first Pitchfork rating, given to you?

Astounded. I’m so aware of the margins. The score was incredible. I still think it’s 3 points off, but I’ll try harder next time.

Are there any artists who’ve reached out in support as the project has developed?

Tyler, The Creator, SZA. Aminé constantly talks about how he loves the music. Coco Gauff posted one of my songs as well and Parris Goebel has shown me love too. I’m grateful for all their support. But I love the people too! I love the people that stream my music. I take the fans over everyone.
