END x Adidas 'Tying the Knot'

Love was in the air Tuesday night, though not in the way one might expect. 


Beneath the arches of Hackney Church, no vows were exchanged, no bouquet tossed; instead, a different kind of union was being celebrated: the latest chapter in the long standing partnership between END. and Adidas, marked by two old creations, the Japan OG W and the Superstar Vintage, reimagined for their latest Tying the Knot collection.


This is no honeymoon phase. END. and Adidas stand together, not to renew vows, but to reaffirm a relationship built on a shared vision of heritage made new; and to mark their platinum anniversary, the British retailer and German sportswear house took five couples to Berlin, mapping love across the city. 


Their journey mirrored the identity of the brands themselves of two distinct entities, complementing, coexisting, in perfect asymmetry.


END x Adidas 'Tying the Knot'

With Tying the Knot, they both return to familiar ground, resisting reinvention for reinvention’s sake. At the centre of the collection stand two classics: one in bridal white, the other in formal black. 


The Japan OG W reflects bridal elegance, with its lace textured uppers recalling wedding gowns, softened by suede overlays and silver END. branding at the heel. 


In comparison, the Superstar Vintage channels the groom’s attire with its black leather upper framed by contrast stitching, and the sharp lines of a tuxedo made wearable. With it, a removable kiltie salutes to classic formal footwear, while the shell toe and crisp, white midsole keep it anchored in its lineage, complimented by END.’s cursive branding looping romantically across the leather tab.


END x Adidas 'Tying the Knot'

In both sneakers, the age old phrase ‘something old, something new, something borrowed’  is embossed beneath the tongue, while a co-branded royal blue insole provides the ‘something blue’; a tradition reinterpreted, not imposed.

END. and Adidas remind us that longevity in design, much like in relationships, isn’t about constant reinvention, but about deepening what already exists. 


Tying the Knot launches on 7 March, available in END. stores and online.


Anticipation runs high, but the real test will come later. 


Because the best shoes, like the best relationships, are the ones you grow into.
