Tobe Nwigwe designs Moncler's latest Trailgrip Sneaker

Moncler drops its most up to date Trailgrip sneaker yet, designed by none other than Tobe Nwigwe. Known for his unwavering impact on the music, fashion, and creative industries, Tobe’s innovative all-rounder approach is now centre-stage in the Moncler universe. The sneaker directly draws inspiration from his Grammy Award-nominated album and hallmarks a new step in the direction of tactical luxury footwear. 

The design aligns with fashion’s contemporary focus on mixed mediums and materials. Crafted from both smooth and textured suede leather, the design also features nubuck - a stitched signature which reads “Chukwu” can also be seen showcased in the design. Thus presenting a clever nod  to the artist’s full name and overall brand, Tobechukwu. Moncler’s latest offerings situate Tobe as their latest brand ambassador accompanying the reveal of the updated Trailgrip Momint silhouette. 

Upon first looks, it’s clear that the concept for this sneaker comes from Tobe’s creative world, though its technical execution is undoubtedly Moncler. Highlighting brand standard components like protective Gore-Tex upper, a carbon fiber footplate, ortholite comfort foam insoles, and Vibram Megagrip tread outsoles, the design is well positioned to join Moncler’s other tent-to-pub footwear. These elements combine to present the perfect multi-purpose shoe that will take its wearers from city streets to long-winded hikes, seamlessly. 

Moncler rolls out the sneaker alongside a campaign highlighting Tobe’s family, focused on moments of joy and harmony as they relish the outdoors together. Bringing Tobe’s design to life, we witness as his wife - Fat, and children, Chikodili, Chukwueze, Ivory, Jachike, and Sage as they express gratitude for family, community, and creativity all within the backdrop of nature - allowing unity and a spirit of ingenuity to shine throughout.
