Kim Jones is taking his next step on his own terms. The British designer will open the first global flagship of KIM JONES, his newly established label, at Central Yards in Hong Kong in 2027, bringing his latest creative venture to a city that has long held a place in his world.

Set against the Victoria Harbour waterfront, the store will occupy one of five duplex maisons within Henderson Land’s ambitious new retail and cultural development. Spanning approximately 4,000 square feet across two levels, the space will feature open terraces, internal staircases and indoor-outdoor entrances, offering Jones the opportunity to translate the identity of his label into a physical environment.

For a designer whose career has consistently moved between fashion, art, street culture and design, the project presents a natural extension of his practice. From Louis Vuitton and Dior to Fendi, Jones has built a reputation for bringing disparate creative worlds into conversation. His new label offers a more personal framework for that approach, with its debut collection for Fall/Winter 2027 set to be predominantly made in Japan, placing craftsmanship and quality at the centre of its proposition.

“I’ve always been interested in the relationship between fashion, art and architecture, and how those disciplines can inform one another,” Jones said. “Hong Kong is a city I know well, and opening our first flagship at Central Yards gives us an opportunity to explore those ideas in a new context.”

The setting is equally significant. Conceived around the idea of The Bridge, Central Yards is designed to connect Hong Kong’s Central district with the harbourfront through a combination of retail, public spaces, cultural programming and architecture. Its first phase, scheduled to open in 2027, will bring together approximately 100 brands and concepts across fashion, lifestyle and dining, alongside expansive outdoor spaces and a theatre.

For Jones, the flagship marks an early statement of intent for a label that carries his name and creative vision. Rather than simply extending his work into a new retail destination, the project offers a chance to consider how fashion inhabits space, and how a brand’s identity can take shape beyond the collection itself.

As Kim Jones prepares for its first collection, the Hong Kong opening signals the beginning of a new chapter for a designer whose career has been defined by movement between disciplines, cultures and ideas. In 2027, that conversation will find a permanent address on the city’s waterfront.
