Sinead Gorey’s SS26 Afterparty Grows a Conscience

"The designer’s signature after-dark hedonism gets a surprisingly intimate update, trading the energy of the club for the vulnerability of love."

"Models closed the show together in a meadow tableau that made the rave feel ritualistic"

Sinead Gorey transformed the London Fashion Week runway into a sunset-lit meadow for her SS26 collection on Saturday. Against rose-tinted walls, models danced rather than walked, embodying the collection's theme, “my name is Amore,” through ecstatic movement as much as clothing. It was a fitting stage for a collection that pivots from the pure hedonism of the club to the messier, more emotional territory of love.

"Stripes, fringe, and cropped silhouettes framed Gorey’s “Amore” theme with playful uniformity"

The aesthetic was one of “grass-stained glamour,” a toolkit for a festival of feeling. Fringed white denim and knitted leg warmers suggested a beautiful state of unraveling, a vulnerability countered by the unyielding structure of a silk corset. Silver metallic two-pieces and sheer layers maintained the designer’s signature body-conscious silhouettes, while leather-trimmed cowboy boots and checkered fans completed the look. Where previous seasons established Gorey’s nightlife credentials, SS26 uses the party as a backdrop for emotional surrender.

This emotional pivot is underpinned by a serious technical one. Gorey is pioneering zero-waste, seamless garment technology, offering a potent counter-argument to the disposability often associated with the nightlife fashion she champions. The move reframes her celebratory excess, proving that the otherworldly fantasy of the rave can be achieved with conscience and forward-thinking design.

"From corseted satin to sequinned armour, Gorey’s meadow became a stage for contrasts"

With “my name is Amore,” Sinead Gorey makes a convincing case for the evolution of her brand. The collection retains the sensual, celebratory DNA that defines her work but infuses it with a newfound substance. By grounding the fantasy of the party in the tangible realities of emotional vulnerability and sustainable innovation, she confirms her position not just as a purveyor of partywear, but as a thoughtful and essential voice in London fashion.
