Slawn’s Studio Opens It's Doors To A Living Exhibition at Saatchi Yates

Slawn’s latest exhibition at Saatchi Yates opened yesterday to an electric atmosphere, with the London-based artist welcoming fans into a space that leves the traditional gallery experience behind for a month and felt more like a living, breathing creative hub. From the moment the doors opened, visitors gathered to meet Slawn, watch him work, and experience the energy that has become synonymous with his practice. The opening set the tone for a show rooted in immediacy and connection, where audience, artist, and artwork exist in constant dialogue.

Titled Slawn’s Studio, the exhibition runs from 22 January to 22 February and transforms Saatchi Yates into a fully functioning studio. Rather than presenting a fixed body of work, Slawn uses the gallery as an active workspace where paintings are made and reworked in real time, music is written and recorded, and ideas move fluidly between disciplines. Spontaneity and collaboration sit at the heart of the exhibition, allowing visitors to witness the creative process as it unfolds rather than encountering it only at its conclusion.

Throughout the opening, a steady stream of friends, collaborators, and fellow artists passed through the space, reinforcing the sense of constant motion and collective energy. This fast-paced, open-door environment mirrors the wider world of Slawn’s Studio, which has long attracted leading collectors alongside musicians, creators, and cultural figures from across the globe. That same loud, kinetic atmosphere is embedded within the gallery, making the exhibition feel alive, unpredictable, and deeply social.

The work created during Slawn’s time in the gallery will continue to shape the exhibition itself, with the presentation evolving day by day. By merging creation and exhibition into one, Saatchi Yates sits at the forfront of experimental gallery experiences and forward-thinking model for showcasing contemporary art. The opening made it clear that this is a bespoke period that captures creativity in motion and invites the public directly into its orbit.
