Returning with her first English release since the viral ‘John Cena’ that saw her blow up around the world, today she releases her highly anticipated ‘Toro’. Her latest offering displays a high-energy whilst simultaneously unpredictable beat, launching herself into a fiery flow, delving in and out of the production with confident manifestations, stating: “It’s my time, and I’m gonna decide how I use it.” The single also features DDG, who recently released his brilliant new album ‘It’s Not Me It’s You’, providing an added element to what is already an exceptional song.

‘Toro’ is in the style of the rapidly developing genre in Amapioano, a style of music that has emerged out of South Africa in recent years and fuses Deep House, Kwaito, Jazz and Lounge music. When discussing the song, Sho explains: “‘Toro’ is short for ‘Mtoroki’, meaning an ‘escaper’. I’ve escaped bad managers, bad lovers, and still I come out as me. I even defy convention because I say and do what I like.” The track is accompanied by a compelling music video that merely adds to the sensation of ‘Toro’, providing the song with a real-world visual story of what Sho Madjozi envisioned when creating it.

Having previously graced covers of magazines around the world such as Elle SA, Cosmopolitan SA, and Bona. Not to mention, sharing the stage with Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran at the 2019 Global Citizen Festival and joining forces with Diplo for a much talked-about Super Bowl party performance in the same year, and soon to join Stromae on tour. You can guarantee that Sho Madjozi will sustain the same kind of energy that she has carried herself with throughout her already exceptional career and come out in 2023 firing.
