LVMH Has Invited The Public To Be The Experts For The Finalist!

LVMH has announced the 20 candidates who have been chosen from a digital semi-final, an expert vote, and, for the first time, a popular vote. The LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers has once again proven to be a huge success on a global scale: the latest version of the Prize attracted over 1,900 applicants from all over the world. This festival, which has been held under the patronage of LVMH since 2013, is now in its eighth year.

Because of the pandemic's limitations, the LVMH Prize has created a digital platform this year: from April 6 to April 11, 2021, the 20 semi-finalists vying for the LVMH Prize final will be featured on their dedicated website lvmhprize.com, where you can learn more about their collections, artistic worlds, and personalities.

Another first: in the 2021 edition, everyone will have the opportunity to learn about the semi-finalists and vote for their favourite. This year, the public is invited to participate in the LVMH Prize as an Expert.

The winner of the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers earns a €300,000 endowment as well as a year of bespoke mentorship from a devoted LVMH team.

A young designer receives €150,000 and a mentorship program as part of the Karl Lagerfeld/Special Jury Prize. In addition, the Prize honors three young fashion school graduates who completed their studies in 2020 or 2021 by awarding them a €10,000 grant, as well as their school. For one year, the prize-winning graduates will work in the artistic studio of an LVMH Group House.

“I am grateful to all of the candidates from more than 110 countries who participated in this year's competition, and I would like to congratulate the semi-finalists,” Delphine Arnault says. This semi-final will be completely interactive, and we decided to make it accessible to as many people as possible: for the first time, the LVMH Prize will enable the general public to view the twenty semi-finalists.
