KidSuper And Mercedes-Benz Present Fantastical CLA Art Car and Capsule Collection in Paris

The American designer and creative force behind KidSuper, Colm Dillane, has revealed his bespoke Mercedes-Benz CLA artwork during Paris Fashion Week. The unveiling was staged at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs, nestled within the iconic Louvre in central Paris, as part of KidSuper’s Spring/Summer 2026 showcase on 28 June. Dillane, KidSuper’s founder, is the third of five visionaries in the “Class of Creators” series, each entrusted with a brand-new CLA to transform into a moving piece of art reflecting their unique perspective. This partnership embodies a shared commitment to pushing creative boundaries, fusing KidSuper’s youthful, playful energy with the prestige of the Mercedes-Benz name. Together, they hope to spark inspiration in communities that extend well beyond the usual realms of style and motoring.

Mercedes-Benz has long championed bold partnerships that span culture, design, sport and music, working with names like Virgil Abloh, A$AP Rocky, Nigo, Moncler, Proenza Schouler, Roger Federer and Lewis Hamilton. The “Class of Creators” marks a new milestone, giving each collaborator unprecedented freedom to reimagine personalisation, form and style through the lens of one of the brand’s models.

Celebrated for his offbeat narratives and daring design flair, Dillane reimagined the new CLA as a handcrafted ‘superhero’ machine. Its eye-catching details include turbine-like fins, whimsical balloons, a rugged winch at the front, a rally-inspired roof rack, a nostalgic slingshot that nods to his childhood adventures, and patchwork touches showcasing KidSuper’s signature ‘Kissing Face’. The design playfully weaves in historic Mercedes-Benz cues too: the wheels echo the futuristic look of the 1996 F 200 concept, while the mirrors nod to the timeless 300 SL silhouette. Altogether, Dillane’s creation serves as a fantastical symbol of limitless invention and childlike wonder.

Alongside the car, a 13-piece capsule collection debuted ahead of its official release in September. Designed by Dillane himself, the range fuses KidSuper’s lively aesthetic with nods to Mercedes-Benz’s engineering heritage. The result is a line-up that channels the pioneering spirit of the factory floor while celebrating car culture’s refined yet rugged edge.

The collection, which takes cues from the CLA artwork’s colours and motifs, mixes KidSuper’s trademark style with menswear tailoring, laid-back pieces and nostalgic Americana, all with a vintage twist. It offers a modern lifestyle snapshot of this creative collision, appealing to far more than just fashion followers or petrolheads. The line includes essentials like jackets, shirts, trousers, a trench coat, and accessories such as hats, bags and a suitcase, crafted from cotton, canvas, poplin, jersey, wool and vegan leather. A standout feature is the use of the classic Mercedes-Benz logo, with one T-shirt paying tribute to the pioneering “Patent Motorwagen”.
