FENDI’s Fragrance Collection Tells the Story of a House and Its City

A new fragrance collection from Fendi traces the emotional and cultural story of the Roman maison through scent. Rooted in the house’s origins in 1925, when Adele Casagrande Fendi and Edoardo Fendi opened their fur and leather workshop in Rome, the collection reflects a legacy passed through generations of the Fendi family. The fragrances function as narrative pieces, each embodying the personalities, values and places that have shaped the brand’s identity. They form an olfactory archive, translating Fendi’s heritage and family culture into scent.

The fragrance line captures the sensory character of the city, from the mineral warmth of sun-lit marble and stone to the resinous scent of umbrella pines and the freshness of Roman gardens filled with laurel and roses. The smell of leather, echoing the workshops where artisans continue the house’s craft traditions, also runs through the narrative. Rome is a foundation for Fendi: a city defined by art, culture and the effortless elegance associated with the Dolce Vita era immortalised by Federico Fellini. The maison’s perfumes translate this atmosphere, positioning Fendi as Roman before it is simply Italian.

Among the fragrances is Sogni d’Oro, created by perfumer Quentin Bisch. Inspired by the golden moment when sunset washes over Rome’s architecture, the scent interprets the house’s iconic yellow tone, an enduring signature since its founding. The fragrance blends a warm leather accord with soft French iris and vibrant Italian bergamot, mirroring the interplay between strength and sensuality that defines Fendi’s visual language. The perfume evokes the glowing atmosphere of the city at dusk while reflecting the chromatic identity of the brand itself.

Other scents within the collection continue the narrative through personal and familial references. Perché No, also composed by Bisch, captures the spirit of Silvia Venturini Fendi through a minimalist composition that echoes Roman stone and countryside air. Fresh yet quietly complex, it blends pink pepper, incense and sandalwood to evoke the relaxed gatherings of the Fendi family at their rural retreat. Meanwhile La Baguette, created by perfumer Anne Flipo, transforms the house’s legendary Fendi Baguette into a fragrance symbolising shared moments across generations. With notes of iris, Madagascar vanilla and soft leather, the scent evokes the warmth of family rituals and the intimacy that lies at the heart of Fendi’s story.
