Belgian Congolese Songstress Lyne Explores Love’s Contradictions On Her Debut EP "Bipo Feels"

Today, the 23-year old London-based Belgian Congolese songstress Lyne has unveiled her brand new debut EP entitled “Bipo Feels”.

Produced by frequent collaborator D.E.W.I, the title “Bipo Feels” was coined by Lyne about the way relationships can have us feeling bipolar - when completely opposing emotions run at the same time. The songstress’s debut project delves into the world of R&B, exploring elements of lush Afrobeat’s woven with both Soul and Rap components that are sprinkled throughout the 4-track EP. Layered over D.E.W.I’s sonic artistry, Lyne’s angelic and immersive vocals capture you from the very first track. Boasting various flows and rhythms, Lyne delivers honest and relatable songwriting, enabling her supporters to connect with her that little bit further. This EP shows Lyne at her most vulnerable, as she opens up about an undecisive time in her life, which she

describes as “those moments where you can have different feelings towards a man you love”. The introductory track “Together” projects Lyne’s feelings as she tales how hopelessly in love with her man she is, before transitioning into “Not Sorry” where she airs her frustration with him leading her to switch between English and her native French language to convey her annoyances. Just like any girl, Lyne’s feelings take a complete 180-degree switch and by the third track “All Mine” she professes how she wants him all for herself - we’ve all been there ladies! Closing out the EP with “9PM” with a guest appearance from Tsunari, things take an even bigger turn. Lyne finds out that her man has been cheating on her… and let’s just say it doesn’t go down well! Showing him who’s boss, Lyne tales the fatal consequences “There’s no way that ima let that guy win, he gon’ know what I’m about to do yeah”. Speaking about the inspiration behind her “Bipo Feels” EP, Lyne commented, “Writing this EP really helped me release some thoughts I feel like I couldn’t really open up about. Having doubts, and not being able to see clearly, while feeling different emotions at the same time, all caused by the same person, can be very frustrating. We say that there is a thin line between love and hate and I totally believe that. Intense love can seem so lasting and forever that it’s almost surrealistic when we realise how quickly it can turn into anger. I want this EP to be a message of support to anyone feeling that confusion about what their heart is saying, at times. You are not alone but keep praying and God will show you what you need to see”.
