Relentless, Pirate & DJ AG Empower Grassroots Creators With A Free Sound System For Talent Across The UK

The leap from practicing in your bedroom to putting on a proper event often comes with one major hurdle: the cost of sound. High-quality systems remain out of reach for many emerging artists, collectives, and DJs who are shaping their local scenes. Recognising this challenge, DJ AG has joined forces with Relentless Energy and Pirate Studios to launch a project that strips away those financial barriers, making top-level audio gear available to rising talent across the UK.

The project reflects the long-term commitment of Relentless Energy Drink to the UK music landscape. Over the past decade, Relentless has carved out its role as a true supporter of youth culture, bridging the gap from underground to mainstream. From its iconic No5 studio in Soho and late-night stage at Leeds Festival to club residencies with Keep Hush, Relentless has built platforms for the scene’s brightest. The brand has also worked with some of the UK’s most exciting names, including Mura Masa and Aitch. Available in Origin, Fruit Punch, Guava, Cherry, and Zero Sugar Raspberry, Relentless continues to energise and empower the culture it supports.

The scheme will run until the end of December 2025, with access points set up in Pirate Studios’ Birmingham, London, and Leeds locations. Selected applicants will be able to rent a full Pioneer DJ package including an XDJ-XZ professional controller, XPRS active speakers, and subs, at no cost. For those eager to get involved, the process is straightforward: complete an online application form via Pirate Studios’ website, outlining your event idea and preferred dates. Once confirmed, successful participants will be able to collect and return the equipment directly through their chosen studio.

Pirate Studios, meanwhile, provides the physical backbone for the project. Born in Bristol, raised in London, and now spanning more than 700 studios worldwide, Pirate offers 24-hour spaces for everyone. By aligning with Relentless and DJ AG on this initiative, Pirate furthers its mission to create positive change and ensure that the tools of expression remain open to all.

For DJ AG, this is an opportunity to empower the youth, which is a key part of his ethos via his platform where anyone and everyone is welcome to showcase their talent. Known for his disruptive, guerrilla-style sets and strong ties to grassroots culture, he sees this initiative as a direct way to give back. “It’s about more than just the gear,” he explains. “It’s about giving people the chance to express themselves, experiment, and build their own communities without being held back by cost.” His approach echoes his career-long commitment to empowering others through access and opportunity.

The project also folds in extra opportunities for artists to hone their craft. A limited number of free Pirate Studios vouchers will be distributed, offering rehearsal time in state-of-the-art facilities. For many, this will provide the chance to perform but also the space to practice, collaborate, and perfect their sound on the same level of equipment found in major clubs and venues.

This all forms part of Relentless’ Freeform platform, an initiative created to champion creativity and sustain subcultural movements. Beyond the rentals, the programme will feature a one-off mentorship session with DJ AG later this year as part of the Relentless Freeform Forum. Here, aspiring DJs, producers, and MCs will have the opportunity to learn directly from his experience navigating and redirecting the music landscape. Together, the project points toward a future where the tools for expression are not reserved for the few but shared with the many.
