New Wave Magazine & Galactamelanin Host an Intimate AW26 London Fashion Week Gathering at Mews House, Soho House

In the midst of the relentless pace of London Fashion Week AW26, New Wave Magazine and Galactamelanin came together to create something deliberately measured and meaningful. As opposed to competing with the noise of packed show schedules and after-parties, the collaboration was rooted in the intention of offering a moment of calm, connection and cultural alignment. Both platforms share a commitment to amplifying forward-thinking voices across fashion, music and art, and this gathering reflected a shared ethos, that community building is just as important as spectacle during fashion week.

The location set the tone. Held at Mews House, Soho House, one of Soho House’s most private and discreet spaces, the event felt like a hidden sanctuary in the centre of Mayfair. Tucked away from the main streets, Mews House carries a certain mystique; it is invitation-only, understated and intentionally shielded from public visibility. Its exclusivity is not performative but architectural, you have to know where you are going to find it. During a week where visibility is currency, hosting the evening in such a concealed setting felt symbolic: this was a space for genuine connection to the fashion world and design.

Inside, the décor complemented the intention. Warm amber lighting washed over textured walls and intimate seating arrangements, encouraging guests to settle rather than circulate hurriedly. The martini bar became the heart of the evening, elegant and quietly welcoming. The perfect place to highlight the significance of the AW26 calendar moment, it acted as both a visual anchor and social focal point. The setting was neither overly branded nor overwhelming; instead, it offered a peaceful environment where conversations could unfold naturally. During a period often defined by overstimulation, the room felt curated for clarity.

The partnership itself was central to the success of the night. New Wave and Galactamelanin across community-led moments, each platform brought complementary strengths. New Wave’s editorial authority and deep-rooted presence within fashion media paired seamlessly with Galactamelanin’s vibrant network and commitment to celebrating global Black creativity. Together, we created a framework that felt expansive yet intimate . Galactamelanin’s ability to mobilise culturally resonant voices made them an ideal partner, ensuring the room reflected authenticity, diversity and forward-thinking energy.

The guestlist was a bespoke curation of talent across the industry, developed collaboratively by New Wave and Galactamelanin, a strong point to the evening. The intention was to gather the right mix of cultural contributors shaping Britain’s creative industries. Among those in attendance were Guvna B, whose influence spans music and faith-led storytelling; Aweng Chuol, an international model whose presence bridges fashion & beauty; Sainte, known for his emotive lyricism; alongside creative forces such as Nigel VMU, Ken Nwadogbu, Filmawi and Tam Kaur. Their presenc4234e, alongside many other stylists, designers, filmmakers and cultural architects, underscored the depth and uniqueness of the community being nurtured.

Adding a celebratory flourish to the evening was the support of Moët & Chandon, who welcomed guests with their Moët Minis bottles. Sleek, perfectly chilled and instantly recognisable, the bottles became both a visual and experiential marker of the night. This event continued to solidify Moët’s longstanding relationship with fashion, from runway partnerships to red-carpet moments, Moët was a natural collaborator. More significantly, their affinity for championing the next generation of British design aligned seamlessly with the spirit of the gathering. The champagne enhanced the space with immaculate visibility, reinforcing the sense of celebration without overpowering the intimacy.

New Wave, Galactamelanin & Moët’s commitment to emerging design was embodied by British designer Joshua Ewusie, whose involvement brought an additional layer of depth to the programme. Ewusie presented two looks from his AW26 collection, which debuted on 22 February at the BFC NEWGEN during fashion week. Known for his emotionally rooted storytelling and precise craftsmanship, Ewusie’s work often explores themes of home, heritage and memory, concepts that felt especially resonant within the personal atmosphere of Mews House. His inclusion was a statement of belief in British design’s evolving future.

The presentation unfolded through a live conversation with New Wave journalist Lauren Bulla, who guided guests through the inspirations behind the collection. Ewusie spoke candidly about drawing from childhood memories and the notion of a return to formative spaces and emotional grounding. He detailed his design approach, from fabric sourcing to the collaborative energy of his team, highlighting the collective effort required to bring a collection to life. As the discussion progressed, models cast by Marvellous Fayose via Osmosis Casting and MMG Models moved fluidly through the room. They inhabited the space organically, pausing near guests, posing beside the designer, existing as a living backdrop. Their presence gave tangible form to the dialogue, embodying the clean lines, confidence and craftsmanship synonymous with the E.wusie label.

As conversations deepened and champagne glasses refilled, the soundtrack of the evening flowed seamlessly courtesy of DJs PDR and Edith Escobar. Their curation struck a careful balance of refined, soulful and rhythmically engaging without overwhelming the room. The music elevated the ambience, echoing the understated luxury of Soho House while keeping the energy warm and vibrant. Around the space, copies of New Wave’s latest issues were thoughtfully placed, inviting guests to engage with the publication’s recent editorials and features. Many were picked up, photographed, discussed and ultimately taken home as physical reminders of the night’s cultural exchange.

The AW26 gathering extended beyond a party environment, it was a carefully orchestrated statement about the power of intentional community during London Fashion Week. By choosing intimacy over excess, New Wave Magazine and Galactamelanin carved out a distinctive moment in the calendar. In a season defined by momentum, they proved that impact does not always require scale, sometimes it simply requires the right room, the right people and a shared belief in culture’s collective future.
