Labrum AW26 Osmosis Show Brings More Than Textiles To The Front Row

Foday Dumbuya's second Osmosis show in Labrum's trilogy was anticipated to bring the culture, music, guest list and bold colours we know the brand wins each season. Threads of Osmosis AW26 once again proved that Labrum is at the forefront of the calendar for anyone who craves deeply cultural storytelling, detail to accessories and modern-day references to heritage practices. Essentially, Labrum allows you to be transported through its collection into the mind of the designer.

Before the show officially began, the grand setting of Westminster's Great Hall already set out to encapsulate the story of bespoke design and ancestral presence. A prologue was read out before the catwalk, describing the thread of connection inspiring the collection, hinting at the message of migration and cultural exchange that foreshadowed the storytelling masterpiece that was about to take place.

A shorter show and possibly more 'ready to wear' than the first installation of Osmosis for SS26, this collection embodied its consumer - wearable, bold, accessorised, but still expressive to the core. After all, the brand is one for the people, bringing the history of textiles to modern-day looks without leaving anything in the past. Unsurprisingly, the brand worked with their long time partner Adidas again on breezily-cool sportswear for their running collection made from hand embroidery.

The hairstyles translated each look into an architectural language, elevating the collection into a deeper expression of heritage. Braided West African styles stood alone in sculptural solo moments. Deliberate and rich with the symbolism that Labrum continues to champion this season, knitted beanie styles clasped at the crown as familiar streetwear codes elevated into something almost totemic.

Labrum knows their audience and their essence has a strong existence in the industry that no other brand can touch. Autumn Winter 26 is coordinated, loud in textile patterns and screenprints, yet equally able to subtly bring sportswear and heritage dressing into one world.
