Louis Bekk Talks Pop-Up Party Culture And Hits the Streets with BuzzStopz

BuzzBallz brought a burst of chaos, colour, and sound to London with the launch of BuzzStopz, a one-day-only pop-up that transformed an ordinary bus stop into the ultimate party zone. The bold activation flipped the script on what a commute could feel like, proving that wait times don’t always have to be boring. With music and a playful edge, BuzzStopz captured the spirit of spontaneity and injected a dose of fun into the city’s end-of-summer atmosphere.

Fronting the takeover was viral DJ and Gen Z nightlife favourite Louis Bekk, who set up his decks inside the bus shelter and brought the vibes directly to London’s streets. For passers-by and partygoers, it was a moment of pure unpredictability, the kind of unexpected celebration that lingers long after the music fades. By turning the everyday act of waiting for a bus into a dancefloor moment, BuzzBallz reminded us that the best parties sometimes start before you’ve even arrived at the club.

BuzzStopz is the latest expression of BuzzBallz’s mission to inject fun into the everyday, showing that even the dullest commute can become a party when you’ve got the right energy and the right ballz. The brand’s ability to transform overlooked spaces into cultural hotspots resonates with a generation that thrives on immediacy, creativity, and unforgettable shared moments.

We also caught up with Louis Bekk to talk about the wonderful world of pop-up parties, a space he’s helped pioneer with his wildly popular sets in bagel shops, tube carriages, and other unexpected venues. Amassing millions of views on TikTok and drawing queues of fans across London, Louis has become a central figure in this movement, building a community that comes alive wherever he decides to plug in his decks. BuzzStopz was another chapter in that story, a reminder that nightlife doesn’t have to live in traditional venues, it can spill out into the city, reshaping how and where we party.

Pop-ups often rely on secrecy, word of mouth, or last-minute announcements, how does this culture of exclusivity and discovery shape the experience?

I’ve started pop-ups aiming to bring people together and create an authentic community. We announce shows last minute because most of the time they are done last minute ahah, but also because we want to priorise our true members and not just strangers who simply come to take a video. Building this fanbase like a family really allowed me to express myself better musically and the energy we’ve got during the sets is definitely unreal!

What is one do and don't do when partying on an air balloon?

Do: take a selfie. Don’t: drop your drink over the side…

Buzzballz are a key part of party culture now, why do you think it's become so coveted amongst party goers?

They’re tiny, round, colourful, just so fun to have. I think everyone loves having one on the way, so you’re starting the party before you even get there. And let’s be honest, anyone who shows up with BuzzBallz for everyone instantly becomes the hero of the night

What drew you to BuzzStopz?

We were thinking about an original spot to throw a rave and a bus stop was definitely an unexpected one. BuzzBallz is becoming a real cultural element of proper parties here and I’m glad we’ve been able to partner-up on that - always add some fun and chaos to the party! I think people will remember this one for a minute!!

How do you approach a pop-up set like BuzzStopz compared to a traditional club night?

It’s very interesting actually. First, it is starting from 0 so you need to build hype and energy which isn’t the case on a club set. Moreover, it’s proper fans, not random people who decided to come to the club without knowing what is going on. This gives me more room to experiment, push people out of their comfort zone, and play unreleased tracks of mine. Definitely a better way to connect with everyone.

Which flavour BuzzBallz are you reaching for first?

Tequila ‘Rita always!

What made you want to get involved with BuzzBallz?

BuzzBallz is one of the biggest things in culture right now, it was a no brainer to get involved and what they’re doing definitely aligns with my fans.

Do you think social media plays a role in how people experience pop-up parties like this?

Completely. The party starts in real life but it keeps living online. Someone films a 15-second clip, posts it, and suddenly your random Thursday night at a bus stop is being replayed on feeds around the world.

Why do you think people are so obsessed with pop-up DJ sets in random places?

I believe that it solves multiple growing problems in the music industry. It is now becoming very calculated by creatives/companies looking for clicks, but the reasons why we started this has been very different. It offers people an opportunity to be part of a community, without involving money, network, or fame. You are free to come as you are, experience something unique (compared to any normal club night) and all of this during the day. It is also a good way to challenge our preconceived ideas of where and when we should play music.

Do you think TikTok is shaping the way that Gen Z party?

I think that TikTok is a great way to reach more people that could appreicate experiencing those shows and, for sure, Gen Z loves moments that can live twice, once in real life and once on TikTok. However it is, and will always be, human connections and feeling who dictate how people party, or consume in general.

How did you build your following?

I would say, by focusing on building an authentic community rather than a random following. I also believe that focusing on the experience and on  what can those people get out of my shows has definitely helped a lot as well. In 2025, you can’t just expect selfishly that people will support you or your career if you don’t give anything back!

Most random place you have played a set?

 A ski cabin in Courchevel…
