Ivan Ave Releases New Single 'In The Cut' FT Children of Zeus & Announces New Album

Ivan Ave, takes time to slow down and reflect on the journey and send a message out to fans that he's still here in the game despite the hardships.

An essential figure in the fastly growing underground Norway rap scene and with an eye on wider European recognition, Ivan Ave returns with a new single ‘In the Cut’ alongside Manchester-based Soul group Children of Zeus.

The Norwegian turns to 90s rap for his inspiration which is evidenced distinctly on the track that also embeds smooth R&B elements that are paired with his verses.

Constantly in motion, Ivan raps with a silky fluidity as he encapsulates a zest for life, his verses are lyrically clever and relaxed.

Children of Zeus provide warmth to the track with their sweet and low-toned melodies, complimenting the synths and off-beat jazz production that lull you in the sense of peace and contemplation.

Speaking on the track, Ivan Ave shares: “Int he cut came about when Mndsgn sent me a beat that I felt sounded like aCoZ collab. I put the idea to the guys and they delivered like they always do. The energy of the track is to me a testament to coming out of pandemic times with something more to offer still."

"We made it through what seemed like the end of so many music careers. And here we are still making the most of it, still going on tour, still in the cut doing the music thing our way.”

The track was released in anticipation of the upcoming album All Season Gear, which will be released via Ivan’s own record label based in Oslo Mutual Intentions.

Ivan Ave’s All-Season Tour will begin on 24th March in Norway but will see the rapper perform live in venues like Jazz Café in London, Barcelona’s Razzmatazz 3 and Amsterdam’s Paradiso to name a few.
