Denzel Curry & Kenny Beats Return With Remix Project 'Unlocked 1.5'

Denzel Curry and Kenny Beats have concocted something special for us with their latest collaboration – Unlocked 1.5. The EP comes with a supreme line-up of guest appearances including Joey Bada$$, Arlo Parks, The Alchemist and more.

Last February the two released Unlocked, which allowed us to see a salient Denzel-Kenny fusion with no other featuring artists. The EP was later re-released as an instrumental version, alongside a comic book which could (and should) be read while listening.

The latest reconceptualisation sees Curry and Kenny enlist Arlo Parks, Joey Bada$$, The Alchemist, Kenny Mason, Sango, Benny The Butcher, and others. The first track on the new EP titled ‘So.Incredible.pkg’, shared ahead of the release, has been produced by Robert Glasper, known for his captivating skill in pianistry, production and songwriting.

Curry’s latest releases include his 2019 ZUUProject (with features including Rick Ross and Tay Keith); and more recently the visionary rapper featured on $not’s single ‘Sangria’ and J.I.D’s ‘Bruuuh (remix)’. Kenny has been generating some heat from his LA studio – working on hits such as Flo Milli’s ‘Roaring 20s’ track, ‘Baguetti’ with J.I.D and Smino, and in 2019 he released a collaborative album with 03GREEDO titled Netflix & Deal.

The eight-track EP is hardly just an EP, it is a sonic epic, embarking on a journey through the distorted reality between virtual and real-life. Give it a listen below.
