Strawberry Skies

“So Strawberry Skies is the opening track for this project, with the strings I wanted to give the track a grand introduction/opening, as the record is all about what comes with the territory of being an artist, whether that’s dating in today’s world, wanting to get to know someone’s psyche and just what that person is like on a more emotional level. Verse 2 of Strawberry Skies reflects the fun side of things and the excitement you get when you meet a new person. Since becoming an artist I’ve found it harder to date as I’ve found people don’t take you seriously, however, I’ve also found that with people who want to take me seriously the feelings aren’t always reciprocated, so it’s just finding that push and pull balance.”

Inside Out

“I used to work in a cafe/bar in East London, a lot of beautiful women would come in and my mind would just wonder, imagining how things could be. Inside Out kind of sums up a specific interaction I had with a woman and I turned it into this song. It’s a love song about someone you barely know.”

Until The Morning

“In this day in age everyone is so busy, this track just describes a situation I had with a person I was seeing, we were both really busy and in the morning when she was getting ready I just wanted her to stay for a little longer, Until The Morning just describes my appreciation I have for, however serious our relationship was she was a cool girl, she was respectful she let me vent to her, I let her vent to me, we had a good time, she was an amazing individual.”

Fun

“This track is all about navigating the dynamics of a relationship, is it serious? Is it going somewhere? These are some of the questions we often ask ourselves. A few months into seeing this woman she gave me an ultimatum and she got angry with me, because I was like this isn’t what I said it was going to be, with her not being from this country and having plans to eventually go back, it was hard for me to give her definitive answer. I always thought, what's the point in getting into a situation I can’t maintain, in my head the situation always had an expiry date. Long distance relationships, so I had to be open and let her know it wasn’t going to work.”

Customer Service

“With customer service I thought it would be funny to add a smart and witty interlude, maybe one day I’ll set up a call centre for people to call.”

Brand New

“You know when you’re in a dance and the drinks are flowing, If not I’ll set the scene for you, I’m a guy at the bar I see a woman that I want, I buy her and her friends some shots, you know sometimes when you’re talking to a woman and she’s your love interest for the evening, but you’re unsure whether it’s you or all of the rum that’s in your system that’s making you like that person a little bit more, sometimes when you’re in that moment you may say the first thing that comes to your head which might come out a little lovey-dovey or forward but most of the time it works.”

Free Spirit

“Free Spirit is about an amazing black woman, whom I thought I could take a lot of pointers, this industry is very cut-throat, and it was admiring to see her wearing so many hats as an author and an individual who was studying, she was always super confident, she walked into every single room it instantly lit up, she knew her worth, she was beautiful and very inspiring. Nothing too deep though. ”

Lovecrimes

“This song stems from people coming into your life and causing mayhem for no reason, you just have to wonder why, lack of communication, hot and cold, constantly changing their mind, it can come off a little manipulative and annoying, I don’t like wasting my time.”

The Real Thing

“The funny thing about The Real Thing is that we sample Lovecrimes which is pretty cool after you’ve been through everything I described in Lovecrimes, which is everything I don’t want, Lovecrimes is everything I want and what I do want is the real thing.”
