The Heat Is On This Summer In Celebrating Stills Of Street Inspired Styles - #MarkFASTFriends

This summer, knitwear designer and enthusiast Mark Fast draws together a series of still visuals titled #MarkFASTFriends. A fun selection of short recordings from the SS21 collection showcasing a celebratory rendition of the modern gen youth, demonstrating positive vibes in their urban surroundings whilst sporting Mark Fast design pieces. The collection displays a new hip look merged from the innovative designer’s influence of fun-inspired and full of energy streetwear silhouettes.

Mark Fast adores creating pieces that are something for all to explore. Nothing but inspiration from his surroundings of London has benefitted his brand and core vision since the completion of his MA degree in 2008. Since then, Mark Fast has gone above and beyond with his distinctive design signature and astounding collections. At the same time, he has revolutionised knitwear technology of the present day through to future knitwear designers and enthusiasts that have challenged themselves, gone the extra mile, including pushing boundaries to take on a new approach to modernising knitwear technology for the better.

From his time at Central Saint Martins, Mark Fast has expressed his love for knitwear immensely. He has fondly experimented with diverse variations of stitching skills and couture techniques, developing his own interpretation of knitwear and street-inspired styles, and using high-quality luxury fabrics to produce striking collections that both genders would find appealing and comfortable to wear.

He treats his design pieces like a beautiful sculpture formed around the body shape. With that in mind, for each knitwear piece produced by a knitted machine, he explores volumes, shapes to create new and awe-inspiring silhouettes. Demonstrating his representation of demi-couture styles attracting the strong, confident woman.

Through his design journey, he has mastered the balance between creating demi-couture clothing to delivering wearable pieces consisting of his influence for luxury, sportswear and inspired streetwear suited for the gen Z youth culture.

We pay homage to Mark Fast new collection of knitwear matched with urban style pieces displayed playfully in these recordings as he provides his audience with a kind reminder of celebration and exuberance of the youth. A time to hang out with friends and no worries in sight or concerns to bear as the sun is shining and the summer season is finally here to stay.

This collection explores the youth gen of today sporting a new look by going back into time and relive the 1980s and early 1990s styling paired with acid washout denim shapes and vibrant graffiti art prints to view. The word inspiration flies through this selection with ease as 1990s/2000s typography is displayed on everyday product items such as t-shirts, shoes and dresses elevating a fresh take for the younger audience.

As a designer, Mark Fast knows how to interpret the balance between Haute Couture finest and producing a diverse everyday item catered for his younger audience, dedication for doing his part in celebrating youth and urban culture of today.
