Skyla Tylaa is pushing London nightlife into a new era, one rooted in rhythm, culture, and community. On 10th April, she led a club night at KOKO Camden, celebrating the sounds of Amapiano, 3 Step, and Afrohouse, owning the night and reinforcing just how fluid the city’s club culture has become.

KOKO was already heaving by the time Skyla Tylaa took to the decks. Every floor of the iconic venue was packed, with crowds stretching right up to the front. Even the space behind the DJ booth was packed, with people watching the night unfold from every angle. The energy was immediate and unrelenting, setting the tone for a night that felt like a full-scale cultural moment rather than a standard club event.

But Skyla Tylaa was not alone in shaping the night, as supporting DJs across the lineup (Kamo, AB Dollars with Lulaz, Philou Louzolo, Willz, Miro, Gadget back-2-back with Nesa Thea), alongside acts Solaariss (saxophonist) and Pelle (guitarist), added a live dimension that elevated the experience.

Solaariss weaved saxophone melodies seamlessly through DJ sets, while Pelle’s guitar riffs layered warmth and texture over the log drum led grooves and fluid, percussive rhythms. The fusion of live instrumentation with electronic sounds created a dynamic, immersive atmosphere that held the crowd from start to finish.

On stage, dancers commanded just as much attention as the music. Their choreography amplified each track, turning standout moments into something unforgettable. Every drop felt bigger, every transition sharper, each movement feeding into the crowd’s growing energy.

And the crowd gave that energy right back. The crowd felt like a true cross section of London, as varied as the city itself, with different backgrounds and scenes all locked into the same moment. From front to back, people were dancing, chanting, and fully locked into the moment. Drinks were flowing, but it was the sense of connection in the room that stood out most.

What stood out most was the intention behind it all. From the sound selection to the live elements and the crowd it drew, Skyla Tylaa is shaping something that extends beyond the booth, nights like this are proof of where it is heading. And if this show was anything to go by, the party is only just getting started.
