R&B Songbird Joya Mooi Returns With Sonic Experience 'Did Enough' Aided By Elijah Waters

Not being one to shy away from experimentation 'Did enough' is a collection of Stuttering electric sounds, a repeated minor piano chord pattern and alternative R&bB melodies.

Produced by Sim Fane and Joya's fellow R&B compatriot Elijah Waters who is also a feature artist on the track all the elements create an intense soundscape that thickens the air allowing a mysterious aura to creep in.

The beat provides the perfect smokescreen for the talented Dutch-based pair Joya Mooi in a track that is experimental in nature but has a spiritual feel to it. Elijah Waters’ verse adds another layer to the track as the R&B crooner’s raw and soulful vocals

Joya’s smoky vocals float and enchant listeners providing us a glimpse into her musing about the concept of solidarity and not just her own personal relationship with it but universally.

Speaking of the single, Joya Mooi explains: “What are the effects of engaging, providing to your community, when simultaneously the world shows so little for you? There are a lot of studies about what altruism does to people. On this song I contemplate if altruism works the same for BIPOC.. since black humanity remains in question globally.”

The themes in ‘Did Enough’ will be reflected in the forthcoming album that is split into two parts. Side A is scheduled to be released on September 30th and Side B the following year. The album will be Joyo’s four studio album.
