Palace x Cutler and Gross Are Rolling Through The Lens

Updated: May 6

In a harmonic collision of worlds, London skate icon Palace and heritage eyewear purveyor Cutler and Gross have joined forces for a sunglasses collection that bridges streetwear irreverence with artisanal luxury. Launching globally on May 9th via Palace and May 16th through Cutler and Gross, the collaboration marks Palace’s debut in high-end eyewear channeled through Cutler and Gross’s legacy of meticulous craftsmanship through a casual, effortless perspective.

Since its launch in 2009, Palace has become synonymous with skate culture’s raw energy, blending cheeky graphics and subversive humor with a streetwear appeal. Cutler and Gross, established in 1969 by opticians Graham Cutler and Tony Gross, built its reputation on handcrafted frames forged in a London workshop, now produced by artisans in Italy and Japan. This partnership merges Palace’s disruptive ethos with Cutler and Gross’s 55-year legacy of precision—a testament to how streetwear and luxury spheres continue to interlink.

The capsule features three styles: Mercury, Victory, and Jupiter. Drawing inspiration from the Roman God of Speed, the designs riff on motion and skateboard culture. The Mercury Square Sunglass boasts chunky 9mm frames with intricate milling, while the Victory Round Sunglass flaunts flat-top silhouettes and Palace’s signature Triferg logo. The showstopper, Jupiter, elevates the collection with handcrafted 6-base curved frames, 18K gold detailing, and a fusion of Cutler and Gross’s Wing motif with Palace’s coin emblem—a nod to both brands’ iconography.

Available in hues like Black, tortoiseshell Havana, and Solid Blue, the collection merges Palace’s playful irreverence (think logo splicing and bold colors) with Cutler and Gross’s timeless elegance. Release dates stagger across global flagship stores, Dover Street Market concessions, and online platforms, ensuring devotees alike can secure a piece of this boundary-pushing collaboration.

In an era where streetwear and luxury increasingly intertwine, Palace and Cutler and Gross prove that even eyewear can become a canvas for cultural alchemy.
