Leon Thomas chooses to ’RATHER BE ALONE’ on his latest soulful offering as he walks away from a love that is no longer serving him.

Despite it being in best judgment, and a smart avoidance of future looming heartbreak, you can still hear the aches and pains crackle through as vulnerable and emotional intimacy stirred from Thomas’ warm vocals because of the sadness of having to let that special person go.

Those emotions are felt in the experimental production, consisting of up-tempo acoustic guitar pattern that lean into an Indie and psychedelic vibe as the foundation and then the back and forth approach of the strings.

The GRAMMY Award-winning artist is in good company, however, with multi-GRAMMY-nominated artist and actress Halle, who lends her airy vocals to the second part of the track, sharing her perspective on her side of the romantic relationship.

Thomas is still enjoying the success of his second studio album, Mutt, arguably a contemporary modern R&B classic, which has presented him in the light as a gifted musician who can consistently deliver moving bodies of work and hits.
