Kwengface Makes Highly Anticipated Return From His 'Gangster Holiday' With New Single '2 Summers'

'2 Summers' marks his first release since being freed from prison as well as becoming a father. Kwengface is looking to reinstate his mark on the scene, reflecting his new ambitions as an artist.

“The last couple of years have been crazy. I got diverted from my plan, but I’ve grown & I'm more focused than ever. 2 summers is me letting everything out, no filters, no holding back. I’ve missed out on a lot but I’m back!”

The lyrics are full of hurt and regret of two summers that have been lost. But they’re also a testament to his growth and new outlooks on life. For Kwengface, music has filled a vast abyss, and its repaying.

Hailing from South East London, his erratic, high energy and punch delivery resonated with many and his fame exploded in 2018 with the now modern classic, ‘3 Stripes’. However it was in 2023 that he delivered one of the most culturally significant moments in the British drill scene; the reveal of Kwengface. The removal of his iconic mask during a COLORS session sparked a public reaction that was off the scale. Alongside this, ‘Freedom 2’, a collaboration with Joy Orbison and Overmono, became the sweet, therapeutic sound of the summer.

But Peckham’s Starboy couldn’t revel in the glory and celebrations, having been in prison. The harsh reality of the duality of his life. However, Kweng is leaving the streets behind and revealing all with the new release, ‘2 Summers’, a representation of the ghosts of his past being ripped away.

His new sound reflects new beginnings as he steps onto fresh paths while simultaneously actively looking to positively change the UK drill landscape.

‘2 Summers’ isn’t just a return, it’s a redemption story.
