Johnnie Walker and Robert Wun Usher in the Year of the Horse

The leading name in Scotch Whisky, Johnnie Walker, is celebrating the Lunar New Year with an exclusive new design for its Blue Label edition. This release is the result of a collaboration with Robert Wun, the Hong Kong-born, London-based fashion designer known for his daring and forward-thinking approach to couture, dedicated to the Year of the Horse.

The limited edition takes inspiration from the Horse as a symbol of strength and good fortune, echoing the complexity and richness of Blue Label itself. Wun’s design reinterprets the traditions of Lunar New Year through a contemporary lens, turning the packaging into a work of art that celebrates cultural storytelling. The collaboration appeals to long-standing collectors of Blue Label but also to a younger audience seeking luxury that resonates with modern expression.

Robert Wun made history by becoming the first designer from Hong Kong to be invited onto the Haute Couture Calendar in Paris, a milestone that cemented his position as a leading voice in contemporary fashion. Known for his bold silhouettes, innovative use of textures, and forward-thinking approach to design. His work consistently challenges traditional boundaries, blending craftsmanship, storytelling, and artistry in ways that resonate globally.

Inside the elegant bottle, the whisky remains as rare and exceptional as ever. Johnnie Walker Blue Label is blended from some of the brand’s most exclusive reserves, with only one cask out of every ten thousand chosen for inclusion. The whisky’s character is best experienced neat or with a drop of water to reveal its layered notes of warm spice, vanilla, honey, caramel, hazelnut, and dark chocolate, concluding with a deeply smoky, lingering finish. It is designed to be savoured at moments of reflection and celebration, fitting for the renewal and hope that the Lunar New Year represents.

Robert Wun has designed a special Year of the Horse edition for John Walker & Sons XR 21 Year Old. This expression is crafted from whiskies aged for at least twenty-one years, using a meticulous three-stage process that produces a smooth and indulgent spirit. XR21 offers rich layers of honey, spice, tropical fruits, and a warm finish that lingers, complementing the visual artistry of the limited edition bottle. By partnering with designers like Robert Wun, the brand bridges tradition and modernity, creating limited editions that are as visually striking as they are flavorful. These releases offer connoisseurs and collectors alike a new way to celebrate the Lunar New Year in style, while enjoying some of the finest Scotch in the world.
