'INDUSTRY MACHINE' Arrives Nigerian Rapper ODUMODUBLVCK’s Debut Album

ODUMODUBLVCK, it's fair to to say has 2025 in a chokehold and we are loving it all the way! After making waves with his record-breaking second EP—THE MACHINE IS COMING—earlier in the year, he comes alive with something bigger and relatively better. About six months later in the same year, his debut album INDUSTRY MACHINE arrives in October with full force.

Packed with mouthwatering features dispersed through both the OGs and fresh sensations, INDUSTRY MACHINE is a case of quality meets quantity. Although it comprises one-third of songs without any features, the whopping guest appearances equate the total number of tracks—23—on the interesting project.

Strategically placed with the placement of guests, Skepta appears on an eponymous track. ‘ADENUGA’, dedicated to Nigerian billionaire Mike Adenuga, whose last name happens to be the same as Nigerian-British rapper, Skepta’s. The appearance of Skepta on the indirectly eponymous track is an impressive double entendre.

Another eponymous track is named after Nigerian skitmaker and comedian Layi Wasabi. The twist here comes when Reminisce is the guest voice on this song.

BIG KALA reminds us that Chiké is the love connoisseur as he features him on the love song “MY ANGEL”. Four tracks away, the former delivers another love song titled '2 PEOPLE' with American rapper Cash Cobain, and hits the 'Big Time' with WIZKID.

Prettyboy D-O makes a surprising appearance on ‘BAGGIO’. This follows the internet feud between the two musicians, which had social media on fire in January 2024. After a back-and-forth exchange of diss tweets and videos for days, a clip was later uploaded of the duo resolving their differences face-to-face and sharing a hug. The beef ended there, and so did the noise. Almost two years later, ODUMODUBLVCK surprises us by bringing out Prettyboy D-O on the former’s debut album.

‘BOMBASTIC ELEMENT’ is a catchy, quite nostalgic title. For Nigerian-raised youths from the early 2000s and earlier, “bombastic element” was a phrase used among toddlers as a form of insult. Back then, toddlers didn’t care to know what the phrase meant; they just liked that it sounded commanding. Having ODUMODUBLVCK give this funny phrase some recognition on his album must hit close to home for numerous Nigerian-raised youths in their twenties and older.

The outro track is concerned with appreciation, both to God and of his ethnic roots. ‘HALLELUJAH’ serves as a joint for three other rappers who also represent ODUMODUBLVCK’s tribe. Bringing together four tribesmen, it is fair to say Track 23 pays homage to the Igbo kwenu

Going full-throttle in making INDUSTRY MACHINE a work of art in every sense of the word, the cover art is not a photo, but rather a painting. Not just any painting, in fact. Forming a full-circle moment for the lovers of Nigerian art, London-based Nigerian artists Slawn and Soldier worked together on the artwork for the album cover.

It’s the season of “Okporoko Rhythms”, as BIG KALA refers to his style of music. Matter of fact, this is the second Okporoko season this year. The first 2025 season came in the first quarter of the year, and now, the year’s last quarter is ending with another Okporoko season. ODUMODUBLVCK is solidifying his spot as a genre pioneer, and his fans are loving it every step of the way.
