Future and Lil' Uzi Release Long-Awaited 'Pluto x Baby Pluto' album

Future and Lil Uzi have teamed up to release their long-teased and eagerly-awaited collaborative effort, 'Pluto x Baby Pluto', executive produced by FBG associate DJ Esco.

Accompanied by the lead single and explosive video, 'That's It', the two have released the 16-song joint-album, with a number of standout tracks. The album had been rumoured to have been on it's way for a while now, with Wednesday's announcement that the album was coming confirming the speculation and fuelling the excitement of rap fans across the world.

The two showcase their obvious chemistry and unparalleled versatility all throughout the album, highlighting both reasons as to why this tape was so in-demand from fans and why the two continue to cement themselves as some of the finest and most listenable artists of this generation of hip-hop. The name is a play on Future's 'Pluto' moniker - which he has leaned into since his debut album of the same name in 2012 - whilst the nickname 'Baby Pluto' arose from Uzi's Eternal Atake album from the start of the year.

The two have a rich, recent history of collaboration, with both having appeared on each other's number one albums this year - 'All Bad', from Future's High Off Life and 'Wassup' on Lil' Uzi's ETERNAL ATAKE DELUXE: LUV VS. THE WORLD 2. Since then, the two have teased and promoted the collab relentlessly, releasing 'Over Your Head' and 'Patek' on Uzi's 26th birthday in July. The two also also teamed up with DJ Esco for Freebandz Radio, previewing the project, as well as a series of trailers directed by the iconic filmaker Hype Williams.

This is Future's fourth collaborative effort, having previously released Super Slimey with fellow Atlanta-native Young Thug, Wrld on Drugs with the late Juice Wrld and, of course, the earth-shattering What a Time to Be Alive with Drake. In contrast, this is Uzi's first joint-album and, despite an extensive mixtape history, is only his 3rd studio album.

The two have been on a tear this year, with both constantly releasing music and shattering records. Lil' Uzi released his Eternal Atake, and with expectations high as ever, Uzi delivered the second-biggest opening week for streams of any album in 2020. A week later, Uzi released the album's deluxe version, which doubled up as the sequel to his LUV VS. THE WORLD mixtape, featuring star-studded collaborations such as 21 Savage, Chief Keef, Lil' Durk and, of course, Future.

Meanwhile, the Freebandz boss has had somewhat of a year himself; starting off the year with the Drake-assisted anthem 'Life is Good', which debuted at #2 in the Billboard charts, Future has kept his foot on the gas ever since. Releasing the number one album High Off Life as well as putting his legendary Monster and 56 Nights mixtapes on streaming platforms, Future has continued to maintain the consistency and relevancy that has kept him at the forefront of music for nearly a decade.
