From Naples with Sound: Anfisa Letyago on Turning Motion Into Music

Anfisa Letyago is one the top personalities in the music scene. A sculptor of energy, her sound moves like water: deep, fluid, and impossible to contain. From the frozen quiet of Siberia to the sunlit chaos of Naples, her story is one of transformation, a journey from solitude to rhythm, from instinct to art.

Her connection to water runs through everything she touches. “The sea, for me, is a constant source of inspiration,” she tells me. “It’s an endless source of energy, light, and sound that has shaped my music. The deep, heavy bass lines reflect its power, while the melodies capture its constant movement. The sea has taught me that beauty can exist in both stillness and motion.”

That balance, between softness and strength, structure and surrender, defines Anfisa’s work. Her performances are not just sets; they’re living art pieces where sound, movement, and visuals merge. When she debuted her Partenope live show, she performed both as herself and as her digital avatar, a surreal mirror image of her own energy.

“It was almost an out-of-body feeling,” she says. “The avatar is not just a digital version of me, she’s an extension of my artistic vision. She can be made of light, she can move through impossible landscapes. It changed how I see performance, it’s no longer just me and the crowd; it’s music, visuals, and emotion working together as one.”

But long before the holograms and the world tours, there was a pivotal moment, the day Carl Cox played her track on his legendary label, Intec. “I still feel like an underground artist at heart,” she admits. “But when Carl offered to release my music, that was different. Seeing a legend like him introduce my sound to the world wasn’t just validation, it was the moment I realized I had a voice that reached beyond a small circle. That was powerful.”

That power soon evolved into a purpose. Her label, NSDA, is not just another imprint, it is a home for artists who don’t fit the mold. “NSDA is more than a label,” Anfisa explains. “It’s a platform for honesty. I founded it to give space to producers who aren’t afraid to experiment, who just want to create their own world without pressure to follow trends.”

That rhythm has carried her across continents, from sweaty basements in Naples to global festival stages. Yet what matters most to her is not scale, but sincerity. “Every crowd is special,” she says. “But sometimes there’s that rare night when everything connects, when the energy is so real, it feels like we’re communicating through the music. Those moments keep me going.”

Even her origins, Siberian roots, Neapolitan soul,  flow seamlessly into her work. “They don’t clash; they come together in perfect harmony,” she says. “Siberia gave me emotional depth and melancholy. Naples gave me rhythm, passion, and light. My music connects those two worlds, it’s both introspective and alive.”

That bridge comes alive in Partenope, her most ambitious visual and sonic project yet. “If I had to pick one moment that stays with me,” she reflects, “it’s the mermaid swimming in the sea. That scene represents my connection to Naples, the mystery, the mythology, the feeling that the city and the sea are one. That’s the soul of Partenope.”

Even her latest EP, Bubbledance, carries that feeling of rebirth. “It’s definitely spring,” she smiles. “It’s full of lightness and gentle energy. The tracks feel like bubbles rising to the surface, not the heat of summer or the silence of winter, but the promise of new life after the cold.”

Still, there’s always a sense of reflection in her voice, the kind that comes from years of finding your sound and yourself at once. “When I was just starting out in Naples, one track always gave me goosebumps, Go by Moby,” she says. “The tension, the release, it was pure magic. When I later got to remix it, it felt like a full-circle moment. That track was part of my beginning, and now it’s part of my story.”

Now, as she balances her worlds, DJ, producer, label head, multimedia artist, Anfisa sees her legacy less as a destination and more as a message. “If people in the future could only remember one thing about me,” she says, “I’d want it to be that dreams can become reality, no matter where you start. With passion, hard work, and a clear vision, you can build something meaningful from the ground up. I want to be remembered as proof that anything is possible.”
