See You on the Seventh Floor: Kaso Sounds, Hak Baker and Patron Tequila take over the One Hundred Shoreditch

One Hundred Shoreditch has established itself as a jack of all trades and master of all, with an offering of events and workspaces, a number of high quality restaurants and its stunning bedrooms and suites. Its rooftop bar, Kaso, has equally put in the work to be the spot of the summer this year. For their Kaso Sounds Sunset Session on the last Friday of July they went all out with drinks by Patron Tequila and music by DJ duo Hak Baker and Ginga Bill as ‘No Blacks, No Irish’.

Rooftop bars are the perfect way to spend late summer nights, watching the sun set over the skyline while sipping a cocktail and listening to the DJ mix songs that are both nostalgic and new. This is definitely the case at a Kaso Sounds session. The night started with an amazing opening set by former radio host, indie-jungle musician and DJ Paleblu, who will be returning for a set later in August. With the vibes already at an optimum, the crowd was already up and dancing by the time the No Blacks, No Irish were ready to take the stage. The drinks provided by Patron, were the perfect accompaniment to the vibe created by the music.

Hak Baker and Ginga Bill are no strangers to hosting a good party. An established musician and acoustic guitarist, Baker’s musical story started in the world of grime as a part of rap group Bomb Squad before establishing himself in his own self-titled genre G-Folk. As a part of No Blacks, No Irish, Baker calls back to his early days raving and partying as he grew up in the Isle of Dogs. “I met Bill when I was really young, like 15,” he says, “when I first started raving properly, he used to get us in all the underground raves in the ends. The best days”. Ginga Bill is also a veteran in the industry, with an enduring DJ career and a longstanding friendship with Baker. So, when Hak Baker expressed an interest in learning to DJ, No Blacks, No Irish was born. From their very first “Thirsty Thursday” event, the welcoming edginess of old school London nightlife has been at the heart of this pairing and is present in every event they host.

Kaso Sounds Sunset Sessions are far from over this summer with a packed list of guests every Friday and Saturday from early evening to late at night. If you’re looking for a space to let loose and have a great time this summer, head over to the One Hundred Shoreditch and get the lift to the seventh floor for a guaranteed good time.
