Fast Rising Pop Sensation Äyanna Unveils Her Highly Anticipated Debut EP, 'In A Perfect World'

Rising singer-songwriter Äyanna has unveiled her debut EP In A Perfect World, filled with female empowerment, stories on love, and heartbreak, the London-based singer showcases her angelic vocals on the 5-track EP via recent signing to LVRN.

Despite being in the music scene for several years, 2023 has truly been a stand-out year for the singer, performing on the infamous European MTV Awards stage, receiving co-signs from some of the biggest names in music including Stormzy, Summer Walker, SPINALL, and more along with the release of her addictive single’s ‘Girlfriend’ and ‘Say You Love Me’, which are also featured on In A Perfect World.

Speaking on the EP, she shares:

“My debut EP is a love letter to all hopeful romantics. Every song (episode) features a positive spin on experiences that many may deem unpleasant, such as having a crush or experiencing heartbreak. As a person, I believe in the silver lining to my core. I really hope this comes across in the music and the visuals.”

A seemingly perfect body of work that intertwines both R&B and Pop, over the last few months Ayanna has slowly revealed a unique visual for each track, directed by Priya Minhas (Doja Cat, Ella Mai, 6Lack) a creative who captivates each story into an enchantingly refreshing music video. ‘Good Ex’ is an anthem of self-love and female empowerment, accompanied by visuals that give you those early 2000s feels, with group dance numbers, sweet solo moments, and intimate shots between two distant lovers, Äyanna embodies all of the components for a truly successful artist.

“I love ‘Good Ex’ so much because it started off as a daydream in my bedroom. At that moment, I came up with the lyrics ‘You’d make a good ex-boyfriend’ and it felt cute. After some life experiences, I finished the song with GG, a very talented producer and songwriter some months later. The concept that anyone can be a ‘good ex’ feels so fun and nonchalant to me. No bad blood, just going separate ways because that’s the right thing to do. I like the way that feels — carefree and positive. I hope people can look at their experiences with the people they’re no longer with and say ‘Ah, this person is a good ex. I learned a lot.”

Äyanna has come a long way from curating home videos, a visionary with an astonishing voice, it’s a very exciting time for the singer. With such an impressive body of work, it'll be interesting to see what the future holds for the young talent.
