Drill Scott Heron Releases Debut EP Pressed On Life

Following the release of fan favourites G-Check and Strictly 4 Da Pz, comes his newest project delivering thematic reflection, the South-East London MC and lyricist Drill Scott Heron presents us with his debut EP Pressed on Life.

Produced by long time collaborator IBN Itaka with noticeable inspiration from blues, soul, RnB and Motown, Drill Scott Heron describes the EP as a “modern-day blues” comprised of songs written during the pandemic. Distinct in his storytelling, the MC takes a melancholic approach alongside a vivacious flow whilst exploring the ups and the downs of living in the 2010’s, a decade affected by a plethora of constant unpredictability, excitement and uncertainty.

Speaking on the project, Drill Scott Heron highlights how he feels his sound is similar to modern day blues,"Seen in track 6 ‘So simple’ which raises the fundamental questions: What if life could be simpler? Do I need more or can I be content with what i have? And what’s good or better when this is all I know? Orchestrated by Italian producer boyjane the record has been laced with an eerie soundscape…"
