dexter Concert Review - The Burgeoning Starlet Balances Guitar Playing and Smooth Vocals

Sporting a very comfortable look in the shape of an oversized tee and bottoms to boot, dexter continuously carried across her laid-back and relaxed style. Clothing seemed to mirror performance, as outside of some early nerves; punctuated by a call and response of the phrase “uhmm”, her refreshing candor shone through quite immensely.

Amidst the shimmering backdrop of the Moth Clubs' center stage, she delivered heartfelt renditions of her most popular songs, spanning an array of high-streaming singles to outtakes from her 2 projects. Insights into lyrically enigmatic songs were also provided, with the forlorn and nostalgia inducing “Play Pretend” actually being stated to be based on her friend's unavailability on a given Friday night. Self-admittedly dramatic in nature, dexter managed to subconsciously add another layer to both her personhood and musicality for both hardened fans and new discoverers.

dexter has also been steadily bulking up her performing repertoire as she has previously supported Fred Again and Denzel Curry on their respective tours - as well as selling out her headline shows.

Energy can be deemed to be the most summative word of the overall show - as an almost symbiotic return of excitement during the performance of ‘Vexed’, animated facial expressions during “Maybe The Problem Is Me“ and constant gratuity to both audience for showing up in the snow and producers and friends alike for the constant support, providing a general warm glow that laced the entire show.

As it drew to a close, her demeanor began to ease further as she welcomed everyone to an after-party - with a long hour of guitar plucking and excellent vocal output now behind her.
