The company has long been known for its innovative approach to footwear, extending outward, into new ventures and statements –  with each passing year. Last season of London Fashion Week, they partnered with numerous up and coming brands and designers, including OPIA, Chet Lo, and Sinead Gorey – showcasing Converse’ dedication to growth by positing creativity at the fore of their latest releases..

This newest collection is no different, timeless shapes meet attention to detail, offering a series of interesting and unique colourways in the first wave of this shoe’s release. First String is more than another collection. But rather a tribute, paid to the unique process of shoemaking, blending brand-aligned artistry with modern proclivities.

Operating along its collaborative tendencies, the line has been released alongside the visions of visual artist Jebi Labembika, and stylist Kk Obi. Further showcasing the collection’s focus: intentionality, dedicated effort, and nuanced design. The shoes themselves are crafted to last. Thoughtfully envisioned along lines of quality and longevity. All encompassed by a Vibram outsole, solidifying the collections’ dedication to long-term wearability.

The editorial shoot which accompanies the release additionally highlights the unique perspectives and creative skillsets of multiple creatives. This vision came to life via the varied artistic and creative perspectives of fine artist Dozie Kanu, experimental musical duo NEW YORK (Gretchen Lawrence & Coumba Samba), and menswear designer Luke Derrick.

Updates to interior design, specially crafted to meet the varied needs of the market, the collection has opted for a widened fit, ensuring comfort while paring the toe cap back, creating a shorter shape.

The initial collection will be available everywhere starting on September 16th. A secondary selection of colourways is set to hit the market on November 6th.
