Can you tell us a bit about yourself, your background and how you found your way into the fashion world?

My whole family has always been connected to textiles, so my contact with fabrics, knitwear and sewing machines started very early, since my childhood.

At the age of 18 I started to coordinate backstage at fashion shows, so at that time I fall in love with styling, fitting, photography, models, and everything about fashion.

I graduated in economics and management and have a specialisation in Luxury Brand Management, also in product management, styling, merchandising, fashion buyer, fashion makeup, I have always been passionate about all the fashion world.

Since graduating I have given strategic support, management, and creative direction to several brands, I have also worked as a product manager and buyer in many brands.

With all of this, it's been a few years working in the fashion world that I love more and more every day.

Who/what would you cite as the main inspirations for your work?

I am inspired by people with a strong personality, who are not afraid to express themselves through fashion.

People who use the way they dress to express important messages, especially women.

If I must name one, should be my sister, Rita, the strongest women that I know. For her, fashion is a playground, where she plays with strong messages and attitude.

Is there any particular subject matter that is currently inspiring your work?

Although everything around us is a source of inspiration, there are themes and messages that are more present in our developments, the theme of sustainability and smart production, the problem of digital overlapping human relationships, the metaverse, where we all want to be what we are not, the desire we all have to escape this world and find new worlds in space. These are very strong themes that inspire my work every day.

The theme of New Wave’s next issue is performance, I wondered if you could touch on what performance means to you?

Performance is a set of characteristics or capabilities of an individual's behaviour.

In fashion, I try to ensure that all our collections have certain characteristics that allow the best performance, such as the use of noble and excellent quality raw materials that allow a durability far above average. Smart fabrics that change colour and have various uses. An out of the box design.

The main objective is to achieve the best performance in all our collections, whether in terms of design or durability.

The fashion world is notoriously hard to break into, what would you say the most significant challenges you’ve had to overcome to reach the stage you’re at now/What do you find most challenging about working in the fashion world?

The constant thirst for different things by the market, the easiness with which today something goes viral, and the next day forgotten.

The difficulty in doing things differently, when everything is different and at the same time, the same.

Entering and staying in a market that is saturated is very difficult. It takes a lot of resilience and calm to achieve our goals.

We loved your recent show, could you touch on the story behind this collection of work?

Bravian´s SS24 collection, Serene Futurism, describes a utopian vision of the future that focuses on harmony and balance among the human race and its relationship with the natural environment. It is an optimistic perspective that respects human civilization and the planet, emphasizing the potential of human technology, science, and the discovery of new ways of living that befit the current state of the world and our collective future. It is a philosophy that celebrates the beauty and the complexity of the world and accepts that all elements of nature and society can coexist in harmony and balance.

Serene Futurism allows us to view the future as something that can be shaped, moulded, built up on and left better than it was found, leading to a more peaceful world for future generations.

To finish the interview, is there anything exciting coming in the future you could let us know about? And what are your plans for the near future?

Our mind buzzes every day with new ideas and possibilities, we intend to include more and more technical and intelligent fabrics in our collections. We are working on our collections with the inclusion of more protective fabrics, whether ballistic, anti-cut, anti-fire, to include elements of personal protection in fashion.

We expect to open more stores in Europe and the United States and there is the possibility of partnerships with other brands that are still secret.

We are very excited about our future and certain that we are planning it correctly.
