Bianca Saunders and PUMA Present: ‘38 Love Lane’

Bianca Saunders and PUMA Present: ‘38 Love Lane’

To mark Jamaican Independence Day, acclaimed British-Jamaican designer Bianca Saunders will launch ‘38 Love Lane’, a collaborative pop-up with global sportswear brand PUMA. Running from Thursday 7th to Sunday 10th August at 137A Bethnal Green Road, London, the event will bring together fashion, music, photography, wellness, and food in an immersive celebration of heritage, identity, and community.

The pop-up takes its name from Saunders’ latest zine ‘38 Love Lane’, curated alongside Amsterdam-based photographer Kwabena Sekyi Appiah-Nti. The zine explores Jamaican culture through intergenerational stories, featuring intimate portraits, family archives, and a rare interview with Saunders’ mother, Yvonne. The result is a nuanced look at how masculinity, memory, and identity are shaped across generations and landscapes, themes that will be brought to life within the pop-up space.

The venue will be designed by Saunders’ long-time collaborator, set designer Y Lan Lucas, who plans to transform the space into a tactile, atmospheric environment. Expect a balance of sleek minimalism with bold Caribbean visual references, including large-scale imagery from the zine itself. Music will also be central to the experience, with ambient soundscapes curated by DJ Stephanie Okoye of Girls Like Us, blending archival recordings with contemporary Caribbean rhythms throughout the day. In the evening, DJs Donnie Sunshine and Kevin will take over with a high-energy mix of R&B, Dancehall, Hip Hop and Afrobeat.

The pop-up will also showcase Saunders’ Spring/Summer 2025 collection, ‘The Hotel’, which reimagines 1940s Jamaican hotel culture through modern tailoring. Inspired by vintage uniforms, nightlife, and archival photographs, the collection plays with themes of travel, nostalgia, and identity. Pieces from the collection, as well as selections from the Bianca Saunders archive, will be available to purchase across the weekend.

Throughout the three days, the space will also host a number of cultural activations. Highlights include a wellness session led by fitness coach Louis Walcott, who will explore yoga through a Caribbean masculine lens. Drawing from the zine’s central themes of introspection and movement, the session invites attendees to reconnect with body and heritage.

The weekend will end with a community dinner hosted by Bianca Saunders and her mother Yves, who will cook a traditional Jamaican family meal for a small group of guests. The dinner will serve as a moment of reflection and connection, inviting attendees to share food and stories in an intimate setting, reinforcing the pop-up’s core message that community and creativity are deeply linked.

The launch of ‘38 Love Lane’ also coincides with the release of PUMA’s H-Street sneaker, a limited-edition drop celebrating 63 years of Jamaican independence. The sneaker, inspired by PUMA’s connection to Jamaican athletics, highlights the brand’s ongoing legacy within Caribbean culture.

“The pop-up is an extension of the zine and a way to further celebrate my culture and the community I’ve built,” says Bianca Saunders. “It’s a space where people can engage with the brand beyond the garments, through shared experience, creativity, and dialogue.”

For PUMA, the collaboration reflects shared values of innovation, heritage, and community. “We’re proud to celebrate and spotlight Jamaican culture in partnership with Bianca Saunders,” says Clara Martin, Team Head of Sportstyle Marketing at PUMA. “This activation brings together our histories and platforms the stories that matter most.”

More than a fashion event, ‘38 Love Lane’ promises to be a thoughtful space for dialogue, connection, and creative exchange. It continues Bianca Saunders’ broader mission to push menswear beyond the runway - using fashion as a tool for storytelling, cultural reflection, and connection.
