Fashion as a form of communication and artistic expression finds root in AELIZA. A brand committed to the “dialogic study of the autonomous individual”, AELIZA and founder Jack Harper seek to reflect the postmodern, individual back onto themselves through their clothing.
Based on the AELIZA's first collection 'Introspect', the Perspective capsule further considers the theoretical questions previously posed. Introspect was concerned with the self-questioning caused by the worldwide stand still the pandemic created. Asking us to looking introspectively, AELIZA asked us to question individualism, freedom and truth. Now, AELIZA is concerned with the veracity, clarification and historical knowledge that makes up our introspective perspectives. In what way do we look at ourselves, and our history? How does this shape the individual? And knowing this, can we find a collective truth?
The brand moves their philosophical thought to visual representation through their clothing, creating an interesting juxtaposition. They hit the hard questions, but present them in a simple manner. Ranging from £14-£120 , the collection features 4 new products - a black hooded jumper, black sweatpants, black knitted socks, and red gloves. These practical, essentials all bear one or both of the AELIZA logos in unique manners - for example, the individual hoodie features AELIZA's symbol on the front, whilst the sweatpants feature a deconstructed version of this across 3 symbols on the bottom left leg representing the analysis and deconstruction of the individual that AELIZA aims for.
For the campaign video, the fashion and the thought visually collide creating an obvious link between the brand's ethos and presentation. Model Arun is clad in all Perspective as he walks through a museum, looking around as if seeking answers. One shot features multiple versions of Arun doing this, representing the different forms of the individual.
Don't miss the new release, dropping exclusively at AELIZA.com on the 8th of December, 6pm GMT.
