A Day and Night To Remember With Black Coffee On The Thames

It’s not often you get to experience an exclusive culinary meal by the well acclaimed Spanish chef José Pizarro, while seated in the iconically historic Old Royal Navy College in Greenwich. A day and night to remember this sold-out event came to a close with a timeless and highly anticipated set by the legend and DJ that is Black Coffee.

Now that we have outlined what happened, let’s set the scene. This month Labyrinth on the Thames kicked off their first ever series of outdoor music events, which saw 57,000 attendees across six dates, all having one thing in common, the celebration of dance music!

Black Coffee is the extra special day we are highlighting all thanks to Labyrinth & Estrella Damm, who treated all of their guests like V.I.P’s at the exquisitely luxurious painted hall, the day began with an abundance of Estrella Beer and a delicious 3 course meal, which consisted of finely cut spanish hams, mouth watering spinach croquettes and cheese - that have most definitely left a lasting taste in my mouth. A succulent leg of lamb was on the table for the main, alongside a mushroom cannelon, homemade chips and so much more, the meal was completed with a very sweet caramel pudding, which goes by the name of Flan Con Nata, stomachs were full and there were smiles all round.

After connecting with creatives and Black Coffee fans at the table, it was time to get fully immersed at the Old Royal Navy College, as we overlooked the River Thames, DJ’s Meera, Henrik Schwarz and Carlita warmed up the stage before we were graced with Black Coffee’s presence for his only UK performance of 2025.

For as long as I can remember I have been a fan of Black Coffee’s distinctive sound and often inspired by the way he has continuously amplified Afro house and electronic dance music for the last 30 years, his music has soundtracked some key moments in my life, some of my favourite tracks are Turn Me On, Deep In The bottom - of Africa, Crazy ft Thiwe and the recently released Trippy Yeah with Jimi Jules, which radiates the iconic sound of ibiza.. Watching the South African DJ press play on some of dance music’s greatest hits including Fish Go Deep - The Cure & The Cause, King of Tomorrow - Finally ft Julie McKnight, Crystal Walters - Gypsy Woman (La Da Dee), Stardust - Music Sounds Better With You, Robin S - Show Me Love and of course Black Coffee’s very own hit Superman, the whole experience was mesmerising and it’s safe to say greatness was witnessed at the Old Royal Navy College, Black Coffee we are looking forward to seeing you next year!
