Clarks Originals x Levi's SS21 Collection

For Spring/Summer 2021, Levi’s Vintage Clothing presents LOOSE FIX, a tribute to the generation that birthed modern rave culture: the 1980's Manchester acid house scene. The seasonal ‘Loose Fix’ colour palette, celebrates that ‘80s Manchester style. The latest Clarks Originals collaboration with Levi’s Vintage Clothing presents a playful take on the Wallabee, a collection of three classic shoes in seasonal colours.

As alternative rock collided with dance culture, the dancefloor came alive with baggy jeans, bright colours and psychedelic patterns. For the kids of the late ‘80s Manchester music scene, the essential choice in shoes was Clarks Wallabees, the brand that epitomizes effortless and cool, perfect for those oversized Levi’s flare jeans and baggy parkas.

To compliment the 'Loose Fix' collection this season, Levi's and Clarks brings forward three special edition shoes that mimic the classic Clarks silhouettes.

"We collaborated on a collection of three classic silhouettes in premium suede with nubuck detailing: the Wallabee in cotton candy pink, the Desert Boot in sky blue and the Weaver in sandy yellow."

The Clarks Original Wallabee was taken and reimagined in a cotton candy pink, which comes in pink suede with mauve nubuck trim and mauve laces. Becoming instantly recognizable by its moccasin construction and structural silhouette, this shoe was designed to stand the test of time. Next, the Desert Boot is the ageless beauty and lives in the simplicity of its design and construction, the inspiration came from off-duty officers wearing rough suede boots from the bazaars in Cairo. Lastly, the two shades of sandy yellow suede cues from the iconic Wallabee, the Weaver combines upper blanket stitching and collar detailing for a striking, stylized shoe.

Head Designer of Levi's Vintage Clothing, Paul O’Neill said, "When we were putting together the 'Loose Fix' collection we thought it would be amazing to collaborate with Clarks to coincide with it. They were really big in manchester in the '80s and throughout the UK. I've probably been wearing them myself for the last 30 years. It's just a really old school approach to making shoes that are timeless, shoe people will always love. These are all traditional Clarks shoes with a contemporary approach to colour."
