What Went Down at City Splash 2025!

Rain or shine City Splash truly knows how to put on a day full of fun, celebrating everything we know and love about both Caribbean and African culture from the music to the food, a time was had!

Now for the recap, it’s not a London festival without a little light rain but that didn’t stop attendees from brukking out and whining up their waistlines. As you enter Brockwell park the sweet smell of jerk, jollof, plantain and more hits you instantly, people of all races and ages walk proudly with their countries flag attached to them, smiles from strangers and encounters with friends fill the park with joy.

For the music lovers there were endless options including reggae, dancehall, bashment, soca, ampiano, afrobeats and even a little r’n’b with the likes of Nia Smith and Sasha Keable gracing the Bossy Ldn Stage. For heritage, culture and nostalgia, The Yaad Stage, Pull Up Stage and the Rampage Sound Stage all proved they were the place to be, Rampage Stage had UK royalty Ms Dynamite perform all her hits from ‘Gold Dust’, ‘Envy’ and of course her hit single ‘Booo!’ and General Levy proved Jungle is still massive. Selectors of the moment DJ Pioneer, Supa D and Terminal 4 did not come to play for another year running. The Pull Up stage brought flavour and fun with Dankie Sounds, DJ AG, Valiant and The Compozers.

And finally, The Yaad Stage, where do we begin, Tarrus Riley performed beloved single ‘She’s Royal’ alongwith many more of his reggae hits, dancehall DJ Seani B played hit after hit. With a shorter time than expected Popcaan still managed to perform some of his greatest tracks including ‘Family’, ‘Clean’, ‘Ravin’ and ‘Party Shot’.  However it was Spice who stole the show for me, living up to her name as the Queen of Dancehall, she stormed onto the stage in her signature blue attire and skinned out to ‘So Mi Like It’. The fun didn’t stop there as Spice brought her rawness to the performance of her single ‘Sheet’, pulling eager fans to the stage to participate in a very entertaining routine and it wouldn’t be a Spice performance without hearing the timeless dancehall record that is Vybz Kartel’s ‘Romping Shop’, a stellar set from Spice that seamlessly celebrated the 25 years she has blessed us with her music.

In the best way possible there was so much to take in, I started to imagine the possibility of City Splash becoming a two day affair, at the scale City Splash is currently at this is something that could be easily achievable. If you missed out on this summer sizzler 2026 tickets are already on sale, be sure to catch the early bird tickets before they sell out!
