What Went Down at Black Coffee’s Sold-Out O2 Arena Show

If you are a fan of Afro house and electronic music, Black Coffee’s sold-out O2 Arena show was the place to be at the very beginning of this scorching hot summer, the DJ once again brought a timeless night of production, nostalgia and all round good vibes to his already iconic set list, here’s what went down.

The GRAMMY-Award winning DJ and producer made history in May as he became the first South African artist to completely sell out the iconic South-London venue, that impressively holds 20,000 spots. The show featured his signature Afrohouse house sound and saw very special guests Alicia Keys and vocal powerhouse Julia McKnight join him on stage, alongside other standout voices and a stunning live orchestra who helped bring Black Coffee's legendary tracks to life.

Throughout the night there were several moments that made everything feel extra special from the 360-degree stage to the elegant ballet dancers and immaculate lighting that helped amplify an already perfect occasion but most importantly it was Black Coffee’s ability to captivate such a huge crowd while solely doing what he loves the music; curating and producing music moments. The stage instantly lit it up as fan favourites were performed on stage including ‘Deep in the Bottom’, ‘Turn Me On’ and ‘Trippy Yeah’, Black Coffee himself even took to the stage and showcased his beautiful vocals for a solo moment.

The night was full of plenty of dancing and lots of surprises including vocalist Julia mcKnight who performed her 2001 hit single ‘Kings of Tomorrow’ and a surprise appearance from multi-award winning artist Alicia Keys who performed the Black Coffee remix to her hit single ‘In Common’.

Following on from a mind blowing set on the Thames last year, Black Coffee’s one night only experience at the O2 was truly another timeless moment added to his legacy!!
