Toosii Unveils New Tape 'Thank You For Believing' And Exclusive Hints On What Is To Come

One of Hip-hop's rising stars, Toosii releases his mixtape, Thank You for Believing via South Coast Music Group/Capitol Records. New Wave had the pleasure of sitting in on his press conference before the release of the project to ask a few questions about what we could have expected.

DJ and Presenter Jeeniius represented New Wave for this press conference, asking Toosii about his rise to fame and if that has affected his overall goals as an artist. Toosii goes on to explain that his goals reach far beyond music, so they have not changed in the slightest. When further questioned about exactly what these goals were, the Carolina artist speaks on his interest in being heavily involved in Real Estate and preparing to take classes on the subject. Jeeniius goes on to ask about the recent release 'Thank You For Believing', posing the question of whether the project tells an overall story or if it is a group of songs with separate messages, Toosie describes the new release as a 'Build Up'. " A build-up for what?", he was asked, shying away from revealing too much about his next plans. He does deliver a hint by saying " This [is] what I'll tell yall...ain't no deluxe - There's something better than the deluxe after".

The 13 track tape is released alongside an official video for the “shop” featuring multi-Platinum rapper DaBaby. The song is described as a 'contagious' and 'confident' track that 'finds Toosii diving deep into his bag of tricks, playfully delivering one-liners, puns, and witty asides as he goes toe-to-toe with one of the hottest rappers alive and shows that he belongs'. Toosie also released the single and official video for “back together”. The video immerses the viewer in an illusory dreamworld, as Toosii imagines getting back together with an unforgettable ex, the boundaries between the past, the present, and what might have been a blur, taking him to heights of joy only to be plunged to nightmarish depths.

“I just wanted to make beautiful songs,” Toosii says. “Right now, I’m the rookie of the year. I’m aiming for all-time status.”

The Syracuse-born, Raleigh-based artist tells jarringly honest tales of street life and lost love, letting us follow along as he details his journey from a lost kid surrounded by tragedy to a national sensation full of promise. His recording process is also something to note as during the press conference he was asked about his process of recording in a robe for ultimate comfortability. Toosii then went on to reveal plans on releasing a Sneaker named after the Italian word for 'More Life"
