The Internet Return With New Album, Coming Early 2027

After a much anticipated absence, The Internet have confirmed their comeback album, set to be available in early 2027. Years of solo projects and rumours of returns, their recent appearance on the New York Times Popcast saw Syd, Steve Lacy and Matt Martians confirm their fifth studio album.

This marks the band's first album since Hive Mind in 2018, and despite the long wait, the group confirmed it has been in the works for much of the past decade.

Matt Martians explained to New York Times: 'We've been working on it on and off for four or five years', revealing the pandemic was part of the reason for the long break. The new album is a result of sudden inspiration, when the group realised they had much more to give.

The three have thrived in their solo careers, and their individual success has only increased the anticipation for what their new album will hold. It seems we may not have to wait until 2027 to hear the new sound of the band, as there is a good chance of a single dropping some time soon.
