The Blending of Worlds: MM6 x Salomon SS26

For Spring/Summer 2026, MM6 Maison Margiela and Salomon continue a partnership that has found its rhythm in the space between fashion and function. Season after season, the two return to the same question, how far performance design can be pushed without losing its integrity. This time, the answer comes through refinement rather than reinvention.

The XT-MM6 leads the release once again, updated in a new set of colourways that shift its tone without altering its structure. A washed lime yellow carries a faint retro feel, while a mix of cool greys with soft yellow accents feels more restrained, almost utilitarian. Alongside them, a blacked-out version strips everything back to a single, continuous surface. The silhouette remains grounded in Salomon’s trail-running DNA, built on the Speedcross sole, where grip and precision are part of the design rather than an afterthought.

A newer addition, the CROSS DUST, takes a different approach. Based on Salomon’s Cross model, it introduces a technical gaiter that encloses the shoe in a flexible outer layer. The reference is subtle but deliberate echoing both protective running gear and the dust bags long associated with Maison Margiela. The lacing system disappears underneath, leaving a cleaner, uninterrupted shape. It’s a design that feels practical, but also slightly removed, as if the familiar has been quietly reworked.

The XT-15 Backpack follows the same line of thinking. Adjustments to fit and structure make it more comfortable to wear, while functional details are sharpened rather than exaggerated. A white rain cover, marked with a black logo, adds contrast without disrupting the overall balance.

There’s no attempt here to separate fashion from performance. Instead, the two are folded into each other, piece by piece. Shoes and accessories are built to move through different settings without needing to change character, carrying the same logic whether in the city or further out.

The MM6 x Salomon Spring/Summer 2026 collection is now available through both brands’ stores, online platforms, and selected retailers.
