From oversized hoodies to reimagined tracksuits, adidas Originals introduces adiSignature, bringing bold colour, relaxed silhouettes and a fresh perspective to everyday dressing.

Everybody loves a good tracksuit that never goes out of style. Whether it's worn for a quick trip to the shops, a long journey or simply because getting dressed feels like too much effort, sweats have earned their place in almost everyone's wardrobe. But what happens when you take those everyday essentials and give them a little more personality?

Enter adidas Originals' latest offering, adiSignature, the brand's first collection of reimagined sweats, developed with designer Willy Chavarria as Creative Advisor. Launching on 23 October, the collection takes familiar adidas staples and gives them a fresh perspective through exaggerated proportions, bold colour combinations and a renewed appreciation for comfort.

And let's be clear, these aren't just your ordinary joggers.

From oversized hoodies and relaxed sweatpants to mock neck quarter zips and the iconic Firebird and SST tracksuits, adiSignature revisits pieces that have long been part of the adidas wardrobe. Dropped shoulders, roomier fits and heavyweight fleece bring a new shape to familiar silhouettes, while the brand's signature Three Stripes and Trefoil branding remain firmly in place.

There's also plenty of colour to play with. Drawing inspiration from the 1980s, the collection introduces vibrant colour blocking alongside more understated monochromatic options. Think pastel layers, bright pink shorts, deep green trackpants and soft grey hoodies, styled together in combinations that feel spontaneous rather than overly considered. Matching sets are an option, of course, but mixing things up feels like half the fun.

For Chavarria, whose design language often embraces volume and expressive silhouettes, the collaboration offers an opportunity to rethink clothing that already feels universally familiar. Rather than reinventing the tracksuit entirely, adiSignature focuses on how small changes in proportion, fabric and styling can make everyday pieces feel new again.

After all, the tracksuit has travelled a long way beyond its sporting origins. From hip-hop and streetwear to airport outfits and off-duty dressing, it's become something of a cultural uniform, worn differently depending on who's wearing it. A pair of sweatpants might be practical to one person, a fashion statement to another and a treasured wardrobe staple to someone else.

That sense of individuality carries through to the campaign, photographed and directed by Brianna Capozzi, with styling by Georgia Pendlebury. Rather than relying on perfectly posed models, the imagery captures a cast laughing, talking and interacting in moments that feel refreshingly unforced. Hoodies are layered over colourful tops, trackpants sit loosely on the hips and contrasting colours are thrown together with an easy confidence.

The accompanying film takes the idea further, exploring memories, relationships and identity through colour. It's a fitting direction for a collection built around the belief that everyday clothing takes on meaning through the people who wear it.

And that's what makes adiSignature interesting. It doesn't ask us to abandon the clothes we already love in favour of something completely unfamiliar. Instead, it reminds us that even the most ordinary wardrobe staples can become personal through the way we style, wear and live in them.

Because sometimes making a fashion statement doesn't require a complicated outfit. Sometimes all you need is a really good tracksuit.

adiSignature available now through adidas, adidas retail stores and selected retail partners.
