Stormzy And Wiley Go Head To Head And Clash It Out

We have all seen the build-up to the following clashes. Wiley had constantly mentioned Stormzy and has always talked about the lack of homage to him in the scene. So it is no surprise that we have reached this point. Wiley took it upon himself to release a war dub against Big Mike titled Eediyat Skengman and mentioned people who should not have been mentioned whilst using the artwork for Stormzy's Wicked Skengman 4. It was only right that Stormzy released a dub back.

Stormzy jumped on Headie One's Know Better instrumental, and responded with Disappointed, although it was a great hit-back, many music fans were disappointed in the fact that Stormzy prides himself on being a grime MC but used a drill beat. However, I think they missed out on the irony of him using that specific instrumental as the name of the instrumental in itself is very self-explanatory. Wiley should've known better!

Now, some would say that Wiley has had a USB key full of war dubs for Stormzy for a very long time, as he didn't let us breathe before he dropped the next track Eediyat Skengman 2. Again, Wiley does not hold back and goes for the jugular, he begins the dub with a clip from Mandem Off The Wall where we hear "your mum is a d*ckhead!".

Stormzy has now dropped STILL Disappointed. The unspoken rule is that you never disrespect mums and Wiley completely disregarded that. But you know what they say "war is war!". Stormzy follows suit and delivers the message on a greazy grime beat that music lovers were waiting for – giving Wiley 24 hours to respond. Heavy is the head that wears the crown, eh?

Some would argue that they would like for both figureheads to end this war but it is fair to say that it has been a long time since the UK has witnessed this kind of animosity in the scene and it is almost...exciting? Wiley seems to be bringing out the beast in Stormzy which we do not see often. Some even go as far as to say these are some of the best tracks he has ever released.
