Born and bred in London with roots trailing back to his heritage in Ghana, SRUMA has mastered bringing those two worlds together with his new single 'Show You Something', which celebrates the sounds of Africa and the experiences of a city boy. The artist has already amassed 1k views and counting on the music video which dropped last Friday, a great one week milestone for the emerging musician. The song was introduced to the charts last month, April 30th and has already featured on popular playlists such as “Chop Daily AfroBeats” and “AFRODANCE.INTL AFRO BEATS” on Spotify. The creative visuals lead with a strong message no doubt, with intentions to uplift and show strength.

"For me, music and my 'normal life' are two different things. In this day and age, we're too focused on who the messenger is and not the message. By covering my identity, I can connect to everyone, because I can be whoever my music is at that time.”

A new take on the AfroBeat/AfroSwing genre, the song was originally created by the artist as an escape from the stresses of normal life, he then took the hit tune to the studio where Vaarcity Records produced it. With a catchy sample from the legendary Ghanaian song “Odo Nwom - Kofi Nti, featuring Ofori Amponsah”, SRUMA brings his own unique flair to the track with both singing and rapping abilities. The influences from both London and Ghana combined is infectious, which makes the track catchy and enjoyable.

The video, imaginatively directed by multifaceted Cassie Clare, is a vibrant interpretation of the strong lyrics. It features some of the UK’s hottest Afrobeats dancers right now (Patience James, Fumy Opeyemi, Ryan Josiah and Arben Giga), as well as a range of many talented other performers from all creative walks of life. You can really feel the freshness, fun and overall vibe of the video, accompanied by SRUMA’s own dancing and vibes. We get to see the different sides of the artist throughout the video, mixed in with amazing dance routines from choreographer Remi Black.

The audience gets a taste of who SRUMA is and what he's capable of bringing to the music scene. Giving us a sneak peak of future tracks at the end of the video, although the artist is in disguise, his music does all the talking for him.
