Sasha Keable Set To Open New Upstairs Venue at Ronnie’s

British-Colombian singer-songwriter Sasha Keable will be performing an intimate headline show at legendary Soho institution Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, becoming the first musician to open Upstairs at Ronnie’s.

Upstairs at Ronnie’s, a newly reimagined 140-capacity venue located above the club’s iconic main room signals a new chapter in Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club's six-decade story.

Keable's first appearance in the space is set for Wednesday, 4th February 2026, and her selection as the inaugural performer underscores the venue’s forward-looking ethos.

She is known for her emotionally rich songwriting and a sound that moves fluidly between soul, R&B, and jazz, which also draws from the musical traditions that Ronnie Scott’s itself has championed.

Opening the Upstairs venue places Keable at the intersection of heritage and progression, a fitting role for an artist whose rise has unfolded steadily over more than a decade.

In recent years, Keable has carved out a distinctive space within British music, blending vulnerability with vocal power and a strong narrative sensibility. Her work frequently explores themes of love, identity, heartbreak, and resilience, delivered with a sincerity that resonates most deeply in intimate settings. An Upstairs debut performance offers

audiences a rare opportunity to experience her music in a stripped-back, close-knit environment, amplifying its emotional impact.

The launch show will officially introduce Upstairs at Ronnie’s as a new cultural hub within the Soho landmark. Following a major refurbishment, the first-floor space has been transformed into a purpose-built, intimate auditorium designed to elevate close-quarters performance.

The space is equipped with state-of-the-art acoustics alongside world-class sound and lighting systems. The venue pairs technical excellence with a contemporary interior that still honours the club’s storied history, creating a listening experience that prioritises both clarity and atmosphere.

While Ronnie Scott’s main room has long been synonymous with jazz legends and international greats, Upstairs at Ronnie’s is positioned as a more flexible, genre-spanning space.

Its capacity layout encourages immediacy and connection, allowing artists and audiences to share the room in a way that feels personal and immersive — a quality that mirrors the emotional directness of Keable’s music.

Beyond its launch night, Upstairs at Ronnie’s will host a diverse programme reflecting both the club’s legacy and its commitment to evolving musical culture, spanning jazz, soul, R&B, gospel, hip-hop, global music and classical.

New initiatives include the Piano Trio Series, vocal jazz jam sessions, acoustic soul and R&B evenings, the Ronnie Scott’s Classical Series, and the debut of the Ronnie Scott’s Gospel Choir, signalling an expanded embrace

of communal and spiritually rooted music.

With accessible ticket pricing at its core, the venue aims to lower barriers for audiences while supporting emerging and

underrepresented talent — a particularly significant investment at a time when London’s grassroots and mid-sized venues face mounting challenges, reaffirming Ronnie Scott’s role in shaping the future of live music as much as preserving its past.

For Sasha Keable, the 4th February performance is more than a headline date — it is a statement moment. As the first artist to step onto the Upstairs stage, she will help define the tone, intimacy, and ambition of the venue from its very beginning.

For audiences, it marks the start of a new listening experience within one of London’s most revered musical

addresses.
