Brand growth and visibility can take a long time to develop for most designers, particularly Black designers, but MaryAnn Msengi, the Black artist behind the London-based brand, has had a whirlwind of a first official month in business. Her brand's signature dress, called the Gaia, was worn by Kylie Jenner in her first and only month of business and, of course, she recorded it for Instagram. MaryAnn tells Teen Vogue she “didn’t expect the reception” she gained and couldn’t believe the immense support after stars started donning her designs on the 'gram.
