Pinterest’s 2026 palette signals the return of colour in a real way. Soft neutrals are (finally) taking a back seat, the war is over and joy is back in the frame.

After years of the ‘soft life’ aesthetic and ‘mysterious girl’ restraints limiting beauty culture, people want to have fun with their looks again. The shift feels tied to a renewed affection for 2016. We’re aching for that golden, YouTube-coded era of experimentation, when our makeup was bold, expressive and, also, a little imperfect.

This year’s colours are Cool Blue, Jade, Plum Noir, Wasabi and Persimmon. They’re saturated, confident and extremely emotionally charged. Think glossy lips, icy blues, deep plums and sharp greens. It’s 2016’s colour palette paired with 2026’s technique. Very 13 Going on 30.

Persimmon leads with warmth and joy, perfect for high-shine lips and unapologetic colour moments.

Wasabi reintroduces sharpness through electric green, turning up in eye looks, accents and street style.

Plum Noir brings the drama. It’s all rich nails, dark lips, and depth without heaviness.

Cool Blue is crisp and modern, ideal for icy nail looks and clean-lined makeup.

Jade is green all grown up. She’s calm, elegant and very chic.

What ties the palette together is mood. Pinterest frames 2026 as a year where people use colour to decide how they show up. Less “what’s cool,” more “how do I want to feel?” And truly, it’s about time.
